Skanska promoted Kathleen Corrigan to schedule manager in the Seattle office. Corrigan had been a project scheduler since joining the company in 2005 and has 20 years of construction industry experience, including 10 in project scheduling. She holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington State University and a master's degree in construction management from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jeret Garcia was promoted to general manager at Valley Electric. Garcia has been with the company for nine years, serving as chief estimator and department manager. In his new role, Garcia is responsible for all daily operations, including project procurement and implementation, as well as staff management. Andy Ward, the former general manager, is remaining active in the company as CEO.
Snyder Roofing of Washington hired Tom Shannon as project manager/estimator and Brian Field as project manager. Shannon has more than 23 years of roofing and construction experience, ranging from field work to project management. He is a certified Celotex Inspector and certified Quality Control Roof Inspector. Field has more than 10 years of roofing and construction experience, including estimating, project engineering and project management. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University. Snyder's Washington operations are based in Snohomish.
Rosendin Electric hired Brian Ruffner as business development manager for its Portland office. Ruffner previously held a similar role at Red's Electric Co. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Warner Pacific College. Rosendin is based in San Jose, Calif.
Bellevue's Foushée and Associates won Eastside Business of the Year from the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. The firm was cited for its performance, history of revenue growth, strength of leadership team, ability to seize new market opportunities, adaptability to challenging economic conditions, and development of unique partnerships with the community.
Tacoma-based Rushforth Construction won a 2010 Community Service Award from the Association of Washington Business. The awards recognize AWB members for projects that support education, youth organizations, volunteerism, community beautification, community organizations that help people in need, and programs that mobilize people. Rushforth's golf tournament last year raised more than $40,000 for the Salvation Army, Tacoma Goodwill Industries, Tacoma-Pierce County YMCA and Mary Bridge Children's Hospital. Rushforth is a wholly owned subsidiary of Adolfson & Peterson Construction.
MacKay & Sposito received honorable mention at the recent Corporations for Communities award ceremony at Secretary of State Sam Reed's office in Olympia. The program was launched last year to recognize companies with a commitment to corporate giving, a drive to improve local and regional social conditions, and/or a culture of giving within their organizations. The engineering, design and construction services firm has offices in Vancouver, Kennewick, Salt Lake City, and Wilsonville and Bend, Ore.
