TACOMA — Longtime structural engineer L.F. “Skip” Bush, a former president of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington, died on March 11.
A public memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Parkland First Baptist Church, 1016 112th St. S., Tacoma.
Bush worked for nearly 25 years at Chalker Engineers, where he was a vice president at retirement. His projects include the Tacoma Dome, Seattle's Waterfront Center and Foss, South Kitsap and Auburn high schools.
He earned a bachelor's in civil engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a master's in civil engineering at the University of Washington.
In his early years, he worked as a bridge design engineer for Washington state and established a civil engineering technology program at Centralia College.
He was a past president of the Parkland/Spanaway Rotary Club. Memorial gifts may be directed to the club at P.O. Box 44572, Tacoma WA 98448.
