Projects wanted for safer school routes

OLYMPIA — The Washington State Department of Transportation is accepting project proposals for its Safe Routes to School Program.

The program funds projects that are designed to increase the number of children walking and biking to school, and improve safety along school routes. Example include installing new sidewalks and bike lanes, or safety cameras and speed-feedback signs.
