BELLINGHAM — The Washington State Department of Transportation is replacing two miles of low-tension cable median barrier with high-tension barrier along Interstate 5 in Bellingham.
Crews from Dirt and Aggregate Interchange are replacing the three-strand cable barrier between Fairhaven Parkway and Sunset Drive with four-strand barrier. The new high-tension barrier stops 96.3 percent of vehicles that hit it, according to WSDOT statistics.
