Water district to convert old burger joint

A former Bellingham fast-food restaurant, Burger Me, will be turned into a new administration building for the Lake Whatcom Water and Sewer District. The Driftmier Architects earlier this month submitted permit drawings for the project, which is expected to cost about $796,000 to build. Bids for a general contractor will be opened on Dec. 15.
