New rules on razing derelict properties

SEATTLE — The Seattle City Council's Planning, Land Use and Neighborhoods Committee voted Wednesday to allow expedited demolition of derelict properties in single-family zones.

The bill creates an exception to city land use laws that otherwise require plans and permits for replacement structures before demolition is allowed.
