WASHINGTON — Oregon and Washington received nearly $47.3 million in stimulus money, the Federal Transit Administration announced.
The Oregon Department of Transportation got $38.4 million to buy two high-speed passenger “rail station sets” for commuter rail. Also in Oregon, Tri-Met was awarded $4.3 million to build a pocket track light rail line, remove underground storage tanks and install new bicycle locker units. Salem received $1.3 million, part of which will be used for transit centers. And Lane Transit District received $64,700 to buy signs and poles.
