County to spend $167M on sewer work in 2012

King County's Wastewater Treatment Division plans to spend $167 million this year for several major sewer projects.

The work will rehabilitate aging infrastructure and add new capacity. Projects will clean up contaminated sediment in the Duwamish River and control combined sewer overflows that occur during heavy rains near some of the city's popular recreation areas.
