Walmart store in Renton expanding

RENTON — Walmart Stores is planning a 16,000-square-foot expansion to its Rainier Avenue South store. As part of the project, the retailer wants to reduce the size of its garden center by 4,000 square feet.

Other improvements, including landscaping, new pedestrian paths and parking lot re-striping and expansion, are also planned. Billy McHales, a former restaurant on the site, would be demolished.
