Brian Stanford has been named president of PBS Engineering and Environmental, a Northwest consulting firm with more than 250 staff. Mark Leece was named chief operating officer and Jennifer Porter chief financial officer. Stanford joined PBS as an industrial hygiene technician in 1992 and played a key role in growing its Puget Sound operations. He became a board member in 2011. As president, he remains committed to PBS' “people-first” culture and continued investment in its local communities. Leece started with the firm as a principal environmental engineer in 2013, bringing with him a history in management of large-scale environmental work. He has been a leader in the significant growth of PBS' engineering department and was elected to the board in 2016. Porter began with the firm as an accounting intern 30 years ago, and has used her financial acumen to navigate complex positions as a senior contract administrator, controller, treasurer and member of the PBS board. She is the first woman within the firm's C-suite. PBS' core service areas include civil, geotechnical, structural, transportation and traffic engineering; and environmental, industrial hygiene, planning, surveying and natural resource consulting.
In Seattle, Parametrix hired Scott Haskins as a senior consultant, supporting its water market growth. He has over 40 years of experience in the utility industry in North America and internationally. Haskins provides consulting in strategic planning, utility financial management, alternative contracting, social equity, environmental management and sustainability, organizational and leadership development, asset management, capacity building and workforce related initiatives. He has held executive leadership positions in international consulting and at Seattle Public Utilities where he oversaw wastewater, drinking water, surface water and solid waste functions. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental sciences.
Seattle-based Clark|Barnes promoted Suzanne Salandi to senior associate. Salandi was hired in 2015, and has developed and led the interior design studio, which works with the architecture studio on new construction and renovations. She has 13 years of experience as an interior designer and has worked on commercial, retail, hospitality and multifamily projects. Her projects have included new construction, prototype development and renovation/remodels. She is working on Heartwood Apartments in Issaquah, Tapestry Apartments in Seattle and the King County Civic Master Plan.
In Seattle, Hargis Engineers promoted Ayman Khatab and Chris Skiles to principal, Jon Horn to associate principal and Andrew Clagett (mechanical), Jared Bigbey (telecommunications), Jon Beade (electrical) and Rachel Huffman (security) to associates. Leading the commissioning team, Khatab has expanded the Hargis' service offerings on a national scale with a team that specializes in mission-critical and institutional spaces. Skiles supports the continued national growth of the firm's telecommunications discipline. He applies his knowledge of enterprise vertical and horizontal campuses to support the repurposing of existing structures and integrating new urban complexes that are reshaping skylines in the U.S. Horn applies his mechanical knowledge to advance the national growth efforts for Fortune 100 and 500 companies. Bigbey and Huffman focus on commercial office, data center and essential distribution centers nationally, while Clagett and Beade support institutional and civic clients' revitalization and new construction efforts. Hargis is a mechanical, electrical, telecommunications, security, commissioning and energy services consulting engineering firm.

The Watershed Co. hired Matt Grosser as a landscape designer and Lexi Ochoa as an arborist and said Katy Crandall has completed the Professional Wetland Scientist certification. Grosser has five years of experience and a background in urban engineering and green stormwater infrastructure. He will support the team with the design of private and public waterfront projects by producing 3D visualizations, interpretive graphics and construction documents. Ochoa is an ISA Certified Arborist with a background in urban forestry and horticulture. She will support the firm with arborist studies, tree health and management as well as forest health assessments. Crandall is a wetland and wildlife biologist and certified arborist specializing in assessing infrastructure impacts on critical areas. Kirkland-based Watershed provides natural resources assessment, mitigation and restoration design, environmental planning and permitting, stormwater monitoring, arborist and landscape architecture services.
In Everett, Reid Middleton promoted Ken Andersen to executive vice president and Mark Davis to senior engineer. Also, it hired Lupe Altringer as an office assistant, Jared Tess as a party chief, Canyen Grunberg as a survey instrument operator and Rami Sabra as a designer I. In Alaska, the firm hired Trevor Morton as a designer I and in San Diego it hired Kyle Smiley, Brian Tsujii and Julia Moore into that same position. Altringer brings previous office experience. Tess has four years of survey experience. Grunberg has two years of survey experience. Sabra brings one year of experience. Morton received his degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Smiley and Tsujii both bring one year of experience. Moore graduated from San Diego State University. Reid Middleton provides civil and structural engineering, planning and permitting, and surveying services.
Marcelo Suarez, a railway engineer in the Bellevue office of Hanson Professional Services, earned his professional engineer license in Washington. Suarez joined the firm in 2015. He performs design and construction oversight of infrastructure improvements for rail projects. Hanson is a national consulting firm providing engineering, planning and allied services.
ALSC Architects of Spokane hired Luke Shiras as a project manager/architect. Shiras has 23 years of professional experience and a background in educational facility planning and design. He will join the firm's K-12 design studio. ALSC provides planning and design services.
