Why do so many public works owners fail to realize more than 10% construction savings from implementing best practices on their projects? These improvements have been well-known, studied and documented for a long time. The Construction Industry Institute (CII) publishes construction best practices and has tracked cost and schedule improvements when using best practices. Project owners realize average cost improvements of 10.9% and schedule improvements of 9.7% when implementing best practices.
