Holt Services


Sean Sewell is the new environmental health and safety director at Holt Services in Edgewood. Sewell's background in safety stems from his 26 years in the Army. He replaced John Johnson, who retired. Holt is an environmental, geotechnical and clean water drilling contractor.

Sarcos Robotics


Sarcos Robotics appointed Jim Miller as vice president of defense solutions. Miller is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces colonel who was in active duty for nearly 30 years. Sarcos makes full-body exoskeleton robots for industrial and military applications. It is headquartered in Salt Lake City, with an office in Bellevue.

University of Idaho

The University of Idaho hired Terry Gawlik as athletic director. Gawlik worked at the University of Wisconsin since 1994, holding various positions including assistant athletics director and deputy Title IX coordinator. She earned her bachelor's degree at Southwestern University and her master's at Texas State University. She played basketball and volleyball and coached those sports at three Texas colleges. Her new job starts Sept. 1.

Broadmark Capital

Trinity Merger Corp. is buying Broadmark Capital's real estate lending and management companies to create an internally managed commercial mortgage REIT. The new company will be called Broadmark Realty Capital when the deal is finalized in early November. The buyout is estimated at $1.2 billion, with 92% in newly issued Broadmark Realty stock and 8% in cash. Broadmark's executive team will continue in their respective roles in the new company, with Jeffrey B. Pyatt becoming CEO and Joseph L. Schocken becoming board chair. Trinity is a special purpose acquisition company headquartered in Honolulu. Seattle-based Broadmark provides construction, land and development financing for commercial and residential properties.

Lease Crutcher Lewis




In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Tina Sealey to safety manager, Lyndi Richmond to VDC coordinator and MacKenzie Junor to communications specialist. Sealey is a five-year safety professional who joined Lewis in 2018. Richmond has been with the company for over two years after earning a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from Washington State University Everett. Junor joined the firm's marketing department two years ago. She holds a bachelor's in journalism from Western Washington University.

Vancouver-based RealWear acquired Kopin's Golden-i Infinity Smart Screen, a voice-controlled and gesture-enabled smart screen designed to increase worker productivity. Kopin is based in Westborough, Massachusetts, with a technology center in San Jose, California. It develops wearable technologies for military, industrial and consumer products. RealWear makes wearable computing devices for light and heavy industry that are voice-driven and head-mounted.


Seattle-based Maven has closed its $16.5 million acquisition of TheStreet, a 20-year-old financial news and information provider that was co-founded by stock market guru Jim Cramer. As part of the closing, Maven and Cramer formed a new production company with content created by Cramer and his team. Maven is an expert-driven group media network platform. TheStreet is headquartered in New York City.


T-Mobile and nonprofit partner Ashoka are holding the second-annual Changemaker Challenge. The nationwide contest gives young leaders, ages 13-23, a stage to share their ideas for creating social change in one of three categories: technology, environment or education. Ten winning teams from each category will receive seed funding and a three-day Changemaker Lab experience in December at T-Mobile's headquarters in Bellevue.
