In Bellevue, T-Mobile announced that Mike Sievert will succeed CEO John Legere on May 1, 2020. Sievert is president, COO and a board director. He will retain the title of president in addition to CEO. Legere will focus on the leadership transition and closing the Sprint acquisition in his remaining time with the company. He will continue on the board after he steps down as CEO. The transition is part of T-Mobile's succession plan to bring in the next generation of leadership.

In Medford, Oregon, Lithia Motors promoted Chris Holzshu to COO. Holzshu has been with the company for 17 years, as chief human resources officer, CFO and most recently as executive vice president. Lithia owns car dealerships across the country.

Avalara

Jay Lee is the new chief marketing officer at Seattle-based business tax software developer Avalara. Lee has over two decades of marketing and business management experience, with stints at GE, American Express and PayPal.

Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon opened a 30,000-square-foot corporate office in downtown Las Vegas to support the company's human resources teams and its growing workforce. The Vegas office has over 100 staff specializing in managing leave of absence and accommodation services for the company's employees across the U.S.

Spaceflight

Seattle-based Spaceflight and Rocket Lab are planning their third rideshare spacecraft launch for 2019, this one carrying an entertainment and science satellite for Tokyo-based ALE. The launch window opens Nov. 25 and the spacecraft will lift off from Rocket Lab's Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand. Spaceflight is in charge of launch capacity procurement, integration and mission management services.

Convoy

In Seattle, trucking software company Convoy raised $400 million from a group of investors. Convoy operates a nationwide digital freight network that matches trucking companies with shippers. Its model uses machine learning to evaluate all shipments and carriers simultaneously to match the right job to the right truck.

The Seattle office of Abbott Construction promoted Elaine Chan to payroll manager, Bert Ellis to field superintendent and Rachel Lamers to accounting manager. Chan has been with Abbott for three years and has 10 years of payroll experience. Ellis joined the firm in 2014 and has been in the commercial construction industry for over 31 years. Lamers holds an MBA.

In Burlington, Trico Companies hired Todd Rork as civil superintendent, Ashley Tonsgard as accounting coordinator and Don Gordon as IT support specialist. Rork has over 25 years of experience in civil construction, working as a general laborer, pipe layer, heavy equipment operator and superintendent. Tonsgard has six years of construction project administration experience and is working on her bachelor's degree in accounting at Western Governors University. Gordon has over 25 years of IT experience in positions including systems administrator, IT consultant and IT manager.

GLY Construction

Bellevue-based GLY Construction promoted Ted Herb to CEO and added three minority shareholders. Herb succeeds Jim Karambelas, who is retiring after 25 years with the company. Herb joined GLY in 1987 as a project engineer, rising to vice president of operations in 2008 and president in 2016. New shareholders are CFO Joe Bonacci and senior project managers Tess Wakasugi-Don and Garrick Hughes. Bonacci also will serve on the company's executive committee. Wakasugi-Don is the first female owner in the firm's 52-year-history.

Graham Construction & Management

In its Seattle office, Graham Construction & Management added business development director Bill Polis, HR advisor Sam Chao, operations accountant Christina Dabbagh, buyer Rachel Murphy, quality manager Damion Walker, quality specialist Mark Bush and HSE coordinator Isael Sanchez-Rios. The Canadian company also relocated three employees from other offices to Seattle. Included are senior project manager Joel Isaac, superintendent Jason Schmidt and senior project coordinator Zach Sterling.

Engineering News-Record ranked Wayne's Roofing of Sumner as No. 462 on its Top 600 Specialty Contractors list and No. 13 among roofing contractors in the country. Rankings are based on annual revenue.
