Seattle-based Weinstein A+U promoted Clint Keithley and Emily Aune to associate. Keithley has over 10 years of design experience on project types that include higher education, commercial, urban planning and performing arts. He is project manager on the La'I Loa Condominiums in Maui, Hawaii. Aune is an architect with eight years of experience on project types that include adaptive reuse, commercial, multifamily buildings and master planning. She recently completed the Ainsworth & Dunn/10 Clay apartments mixed-use project and is project manager on a new office building, both in Seattle.

Hart Crowser hired Oscar Mowar as a geotechnical engineer and Mitchell Dodo as a geologist in Seattle, and Jennifer Kuiper as a senior associate geologist in Portland. In Honolulu, it hired JoDee Taylor as a senior associate engineer, Mark Herrenkohl as a senior associate engineering geologist and Shannon Black as an environmental scientist. In Guam, it hired Bill Whitman as an environmental scientist.

Mowar has a master's in civil engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked on public and private tunnel, school and housing projects. Dodo has a bachelor's in geology from the University of Puget Sound. His background includes trends and patterns in lake sediment. He has also worked on residential and commercial construction projects. Kuiper is an environmental scientist with 28 years of experience providing consulting services in brownfield assessments and remedial investigations, energy facility siting, natural resources, and regulatory permitting. She supports property acquisition and divestiture.

Taylor leads the Honolulu office's growing geotechnical engineering business in Hawaii and the Pacific. She has over 18 years of experience in geotechnical design, construction, and management of private and government construction projects. Her projects include public works (roads, culverts, bridges, parks, utilities), ports (sea and air), private development, Superfund sites, and emergency response (sinkholes and post-fire erosion control). Herrenkohl returned to Hart Crowser after 29 years away. He has 31 years of experience in environmental investigation and remediation. Most recently he was solid waste program administrator for San Juan County Public Works. He has managed environmental projects in the U.S., including Superfund sites and litigation support projects. Black has a bachelor's in environmental science from the University of Washington. She has designed methods and materials for collecting microplastic particle contamination from freshwater, specifically the Puyallup River Watershed, for the Center for Urban Waters. She also processed and analyzed sediment samples collected from Lake Mead, Nevada, for microplastics for the U.S. Geological Survey. Black received the Zirzow award for her research from the National Association of Environmental Professionals.

Whitman has 11 years of environmental consulting experience; he specializes in environmental monitoring to evaluate compliance with laws and regulations. He has managed long-term monitoring projects in Hawaii and Micronesia. Since 2012, he has studied seasonal water cycles and the impacts of land-based pollution on rivers and coral reefs in Guam.

Hart Crowser is an employee-owned engineering, science and consulting firm headquartered in Seattle.

Singh

Seattle venture capital firm Madrona Venture Group appointed Steve Singh as a managing director. Singh co-founded and led Concur, a corporate travel and expense management firm that was acquired in 2014 by SAP for $8.3 billion. He then served on the executive board of SAP and later was CEO of open source software company Docker.

Portland-based Standard Insurance Co. (The Standard) promoted Jans Dykhouse to assistant vice president of sales operations and dental, and Kathleen Quetel to second vice president of risk underwriting. Dykhouse joined the company in 1999 and has been senior director of sales operations and service, and second vice president of employee benefit sales operations. Quetel has been with the company since 1992, moving up the ranks from associate underwriter to senior director of risk management.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Seattle-based Davis Wright Tremaine said a six-lawyer group focusing on energy matters joined its Washington, D.C., office. The group comes from Alston & Bird and is led by partners Sean Atkins and Michael Kunselman. It includes former Federal Energy Regulatory Commission senior executive Andrea Wolfman. The group is rounded out with Jamil Nasir, Bradley Miliauskas and Michael Kellermann, as well as several staff.

RH Strategic

Seattle-based Raffetto Herman Strategic Communications acquired MIX Public Relations of Seattle. The move deepens RH Strategic's expertise in cybersecurity, enterprise and emerging technology. It also grows the firm to 30 professionals with staff in cities coast to coast, including an office in Washington, D.C. MIX was founded in 2009 by Hally Wax and Matthew Mors.

Docugami

Kirkland startup Docugami secured $10 million in seed funding led by venture fund SignalFire, with participation by NextWorld Capital and others. The company also announced that Bob Muglia, former CEO of Snowflake and former head of Microsoft's Office and Azure businesses, is joining the company as a major investor and board member. Docugami uses artificial intelligence to help businesses create and manage documents for greater productivity, compliance and insight.

Qumulo

In Seattle, Qumulo hired Barry Russell as senior vice president and cloud general manager. Russell was global vice president of cloud business at F5 and a general manager at Amazon Web Services. Qumulo is a provider of hybrid cloud file storage.

Impinj

Eric Brodersen on March 6 will step down as president and COO of Impinj, a Seattle-based provider of radio frequency identification products. Brodersen has been with the company for nearly five years. He plans to travel and spend time with family before pursuing other opportunities. Impinj does not plan to immediately hire a replacement.

DOE

The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management appointed Connie Flohr as manager of the Idaho Cleanup Project in Idaho Falls. Flohr was deputy manager of the radioactive waste cleanup program for nearly three years, and was acting manager since November. She has over 30 years of experience in leadership, budgeting and planning. Environmental Management oversees cleanup at the Idaho National Laboratory Site.

Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon started a new program that awards $25,000 prize packages to seven teachers working with students in underserved U.S. communities to build computer science skills. All 2,400 high school and robotics teachers in the Amazon Future Engineer program can be nominated at AmazonFutureEngineer.com starting Thursday until March 12.

NTT

Data center and technology services provider NTT said it will build five data centers on its 47-acre campus in Hillsboro, Oregon. The five new buildings will total 1 million square feet and will be part of NTT's Global Data Centers division, which operates over 160 data centers in more than 20 countries and regions.

In Tacoma, Gray Lumber Co. made three personnel changes: Frank Devlin moved into government, industrial and institutional sales; Sarah Ortega returned to the company as resident Marvin project jobber; and Derek Hummel joined as manager of the Sixth Avenue store. Devlin is a 25-year veteran of the wood products industry. Hummel has over 25 years of experience in building material sales.

Unimark Construction Group

Skyline Construction Enterprises bought Seattle-based Unimark Construction Group and its sister company Servicemark. Skyline is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The companies for years have shared clients and business relationships between the Seattle and Bay Area markets. Day-to-day business operations and teams at Unimark and Servicemark remain the same. Unimark was founded in 1953 and specializes in tenant improvement and renovation projects. Servicemark provides minor improvements, painting, electrical and carpentry.

Sunpro

Sunpro bought Stone Lumber of Nampa, Idaho. Stone has operated under family ownership since 1906, providing lumber, hardware and building supplies. Sunpro, a subsidiary of family-owned Clyde Cos., has provided building materials and supplies to Utah and Idaho since 1938. Stone employees remain with Sunpro and former Stone store manager Matt Hildebrandt is location manager of the new Sunpro store in Nampa.
