A curtain of bubbles was created during pile-driving operations at the Navy’s Silverdale base. The bubbles absorb sound waves to protect juvenile fish. The project upgraded a service pier to accommodate a nuclear submarine. General Construction and Wade Perrow Construction were the joint venture contractors on the project, which won an AGC award for new buildings between $15 million and $50 million.
