Seattle-based Hewitt promoted Leah Ephrem, Sean Ludviksen, Julia Nageleand Matthew Porteous to principal. Ephrem was hired in 2008, and helps oversee transit work. She has 19 years of experience in architecture and transit facility design, with work that includes transit stations in Northgate, Roosevelt, Rainier Beach, Lynnwood and Tukwila. Ludviksen joined the firm in 2011 and helps oversee the architecture studio. He has 30 years of experience focused on multifamily and mixed-use architecture, with recent work that includes residential towers Verve and 2nd + Stewart in Seattle. Nagele joined Hewitt in 2011, and helps oversee the architecture studio. She has 19 years of architectural design experience, including on urban residential and commercial mixed-use projects. Her recent work includes Verve and 2nd + Stewart. Porteous joined Hewitt in 2000, and helps oversee the landscape architecture practice. He has 18 years of experience, and integrates urban design and landscape architecture in civic infrastructure and streetscape projects. His recent work includes Bell Street Park and University Village in Seattle. Hewitt provides architecture, landscape architecture and urban design.

Portland-based FFA Architecture and Interiors promoted Ian Gelbrich to associate and hired Richard Grace as a senior associate, Kerry Knauss and Meghan Kelly as project team leaders, and Tyson Staab as an intern. Gelbrich has over 17 years of experience. He has been with FFA since February and is project manager for Redmond City Hall/Civic Center in Redmond, Oregon. Grace is an architect with 18 years of experience on educational, institutional, corporate and public projects. He is managing the Linn Benton Community College Benton Center expansion in Albany, Oregon. Knauss has 17 years of industry experience and is working on the rehab of Olympic National Park Visitor Center. Kelly has 10 years of industry experience, and is assisting on a mixed-use project in Portland. Staab worked in architecture and construction in the Bay Area and Central Oregon for five years. At FFA, he is working on the Library! at Bown Crossing in Boise, Idaho. The firm provides architecture, planning, historic preservation and interior design services.

In its Tacoma office, AHBL hired Janet Bringhurst as an accounting assistant and Jason Jacobson as a project engineer. In Seattle, it hired Lea Bonebrake as a project engineer and Charles Palmer as a project manager. In Pasco, it hired Nicole Stickney as a project planner, and survey technician Tyler Duncan transferred to that office. Bringhurst was an accountant and bookkeeper with HiLine Homes in Puyallup. Jacobson has 12 years of engineering and construction experience and a background in stormwater design. Bonebrake has 11 years of industry experience, and will work on the King County Children and Family Justice Center. Palmer has 10 years of industry experience, with a background in stormwater and roadway design. He will work on Lynnwood Elementary School. Stickney was a planning and economic development manager for the City of West Richland. Duncan is supporting the Liberty Lake Road Rehabilitation. AHBL provides civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, community planning, and land surveying, with an office also in Spokane.
