Seattle-based Caron Architecture hired Thomas Eng as a project manager, Jin Kang as a senior designer, Hollis Rendleman as an interior designer, Ty Henderson as marketing manager, and Seth Good, Elizabeth Stonecypher, Gabriel Morales and Rasha Younan as designers. Eng is an architect with over 20 years of project management experience. He is working on student housing in Reno. Kang is an architect with over 15 years of experience on retail, office, hospitality and education projects. He is working on a mixed-use development in Seattle. Rendleman has over 10 years of experience designing interiors for retail and residential clients. She is working on 4700 Brooklyn Ave. N.E., a student housing project in Seattle. Henderson has over 10 years of marketing and graphic design experience. Good has five years of design experience and is working on the prototype for “townhouse-style” single-family housing to be constructed on numerous sites near the University of Washington. Stonecypher has over five years of design experience and is working on student housing in Reno. Morales has over seven years of international design experience on residential, commercial, retail and interiors projects. He is working on a dining hall at a Tumwater retreat center. Younan has over 14 years of design experience. She is a graduate of Egypt's Mansoura University, and is working on a Des Moines mixed-use project. Caron provides pre-development/master planning, architecture, interior design and space planning services.




In Kirkland, structural engineering firm Dibble Engineers hired Justin Wang, Kyle Umlauf and Caitlin Wilhelm as project engineers, and Michael McCann as a project manager. Wang has done residential and commercial design. Umlauf holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington, and interned at Dibble. Wilhelm has three years of experience in retail, industrial and essential facility structural design. McCann has over 35 years of experience as an engineering consultant on commercial and multifamily projects. He previously owned McCann Engineering.


In Portland, DOWA-IBI Group promoted Jim Fitzpatrick and Marc Nordean to associate principal, and said co-founders Norm Dull and John Weekes have retired. Principals Steve Olson, Amy Friendy, Dan Hess and Karina Ruiz will continue to lead the firm. Fitzpatrick has 20 years of experience as an architect/project manager. He has managed in-house staff and coordination with sub-consultants on education projects. Nordean has over 15 years of experience with architectural design and planning. DOWA-IBI Group focuses on K-12 projects in Oregon, Washington and California.

HBB Landscape Architecture promoted Monica Thompson to associate. Thompson has five years of experience in planting design, design/build construction and detail development. She has worked on park, waterfront and infrastructure projects, including Sound Transit's East Link.

LMN Architects hired Teena Videriksen to a newly created position: director of business development. Videriksen will focus on strategic partnering, firm visibility and client relations. She has 25 years of experience in design, and was business development leader for Arup in Los Angeles for 11 years. She also held marketing leadership positions with NBBJ in Los Angeles, Dworsky Associates (now Cannon Design) and Barton Myers Associates. Videriksen is a principal with LMN. The Seattle-based firm designs public and private projects.





In Kirkland, Freiheit & Ho Architects hired interior designers Burcu Aldemir and Dorrie Brennick, architectural designers Charlotte Muschamp and Alex Tripp and receptionist Katelyn Miles. Aldemir holds a bachelor's in interior design from Bellevue Community College. She is working on a dental office. Brennick has a bachelor's in interior design from University of New Haven. She is working on an oral surgeon's office. Muschamp holds a bachelor's in architectural studies from Washington State University. She is working on Hawk Tower in Pioneer Square that will include a 23-story Hilton Embassy Suites Hotel. Tripp has a bachelor's in design in architectural studies. He is working on tenant improvements at Westgate Office Building in Redmond. Miles is working towards a bachelor's in humanities from Washington State University and has eight years of experience. Freiheit & Ho is a commercial architecture and interior design firm.

ELM Environments design studio hired associate landscape architect Callie Bernier. Her experience includes residential gardens, post-industrial remediations, restaurants and habitat restoration. She is supporting Sage Lodge on the Yellowstone River. ELM provides planning, architecture, landscape architecture and urban design.

Confluence Environmental Co. hired Phil Bloch as a senior ecologist. Bloch has 16 years of experience in marine nearshore ecology, GIS/spatial planning, habitat mitigation/restoration and habitat assessment. He has worked on projects in the Puget Sound region. Confluence does natural resource and capital improvement projects.



In its Seattle office, Sazan Group hired David Reames as a senior mechanical engineer, Andy Malanca as a Revit/BIM modeler and CAD drafter, and Bau Phan as an electrical designer. Reames has over 30 years of experience that includes schools, commercial and government projects, and historic renovations. Malanca has AutoCAD and REVIT MEP experience. He has a master's in architecture from Washington State University. Phan has five years of experience designing power and lighting systems. He has AutoCAD and Revit MEP experience, and was an electronics technician in the Navy. Sazan provides mechanical, electrical and fire protection engineering, IT systems consulting, MEP commissioning, and owner representation services, with an office also in Portland.

Parametrix hired Mark Yand as operations manager in Bremerton. Yand has over 25 years of experience in consulting engineering, and has managed the I-90 Corridor Study and I-5 master plan. He will lead project management and client outreach, and do business development. He was with Concord Engineering. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental sciences.

Tacoma-based Tres West Engineers transitioned leadership of the firm to Jenifer Moore, following the retirement of Wing Li. Moore has 15 years of experience in program and construction management in federal, state and local government. She holds a bachelor's in mechanical engineering from St. Martin's University in Lacey. The firm provides mechanical, electrical and technology/communications engineering.

Ken Andersen, Alaska office director for Reid Middleton, is now a principal engineer in the Everett headquarters. Andersen has 37 years of civil/structural engineering experience on buildings and waterfront projects, and will expand the structural engineering groups in Everett, Honolulu and San Diego. Reid Middleton is an engineering, planning and surveying firm.

Environmental Science Associates hired Albert Cuisinot as chief financial officer and senior vice president. Cuisinot has over 25 years of experience in management and corporate accounting, including 15 as CFO. He was CFO for a structural engineering company. ESA is a West Coast-based environmental planning and design firm.
The Blueline Group hired TC Colleran as a project planner. Colleran has over 11 years of experience in planning, design and landscape architecture. Blueline provides civil engineering and planning consulting.
