Seattle-based Berger Partnership promoted Jen Montressor to project manager and added Maren McBride as a project manager and Xingyue Huang as a summer intern. Montressor was hired in 2015. Her work includes the South Sound 911 Center in Tacoma, Alaska Airlines headquarters and Mt. Baker Apartments. McBride is working on the Microsoft campus renovation. She has nine years of experience in landscape architecture, urban design and planning with projects that include urban public space, streetscapes, schools, community master planning, transit infrastructure and mobility, regional stormwater strategies, parks/open space and design guidelines. Huang is a landscape architecture student at the Harvard School of Design with a background in architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture. She has a bachelor of engineering in landscape architecture from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China. Berger is a landscape architectural and urban design firm.

Heidi Wahto joined Stantec, a global engineering, architecture and consulting firm, as a principal and senior environmental regulatory expert in the Bellevue office. Wahto will use her 20-plus years of experience to grow the WaterPower & Dams practice. She analyzes requirements for and advises clients in licensing, permitting, and developing compliance programs for hydropower and water-resource related projects. She recently managed the relicensing effort of a 4.1-megawatt run-of-river project on the Boise River.

Seattle-based Johnston Architects hired Liz Wasson Coleman as marketing director. Coleman has worked in the Northwest AEC industry for over 15 years, with a focus on client relationships, marketing, communications and business development. She has marketed local design firms working on mixed-use, multifamily, park and public works, commercial, workplace, health care and hospitality projects. She leads JA's marketing, including proposal strategy and development, copywriting, editing, press and public relations, brand integration and supporting business development. The firm provides architecture, interior design and urban planning.

Jonathan DeJesus joined PBS Engineering and Environmental as a civil engineer in the Issaquah office. He holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Hofstra University and will support civil and stormwater engineering work as the firm grows in the Puget Sound region.

In Seattle, HDR Engineering hired Genesee Adkins as community relations specialist focusing on business development and external community relations at all levels of government. She has 20 years of experience in public policy and government relations. Most recently, she was chief of staff at the Seattle Department of Transportation. Prior to joining SDOT, she was director of state relations for the University of Washington, director of government relations for King County Executive Dow Constantine, and state relations director for the city of Seattle.

Seattle-based Rolluda Architects hired Nematullah Hassanzadah and Matthew Budinger as project designers. Hassanzadah received a bachelor of science in architecture from Kabul Polytechnic University. He is working on the South Transfer Station Phase II for Seattle Public Utilities. Budinger holds a bachelor of architecture from the University of Utah. He is working on a fire station in Renton for The Boeing Co.

In Seattle, structural engineering firm Swenson Say Faget hired Kellen Brumbaugh as a project engineer and Evan Reschreiter, Holly Ashford and Sam Lieburn as staff engineers. In Tacoma, it hired Taylor Vincent as a staff engineer. Brumbaugh is working on a seismic retrofit of The Garage (office building/event space) in Fremont, and a new Marriott/TownePlace and Springhill Suites Hotel in Everett. He was with a three-person structural engineering firm for almost four years. Reschreiter's projects include houses and some structural design/build services for Dogwood Industry's prefabricated folded building installations in Louisiana, Texas, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He was with Walter P Moore, a national engineering firm, for three years in Austin. Ashford is working on new and renovation houses in Seattle, Mercer Island, Woodinville and Suncadia. She previously worked on housing and commercial projects for four years in Austin. Lieburn has a bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He is working on new and renovation houses in Kirkland and Seattle. Vincent's projects include the 5409 Leary apartments in Ballard and townhouses in Tacoma. He was with an engineering firm in Oregon.

Seattle-based SMR Architects promoted Andrew Phillips, Kate Smith and Rumi Takahashi to associate principal. Phillips was hired in 1996 and specializes in renovation, historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects. Smith was hired in 2006 and has designed permanent supportive and affordable housing projects. Takahashi joined SMR in 2014, designing housing and community-based buildings for the community's most vulnerable members. SMR said the three have contributed to its growth while displaying exemplary leadership and professional skills.

In Seattle, Bohlin Cywinski Jackson promoted Benjamin Doty to senior associate. Doty is director of design technology. In his more than 25-year career, he has focused on how technology can enhance the design and delivery of projects at every scale. He guides project teams to achieve their goals in design, iteration, model management or documentation.

Portland-based LRS Architects appointed managing principal Trish Nixon as president, the first woman to assume the role for the 140-person architecture and interior design firm. Nixon has over 30 years of experience. An architect, she started with LRS in 1996 and became managing principal in 2008. Nixon has worked in the senior housing studio, co-led the civic and commercial studios and continues to lead the firm's multifamily and affordable housing efforts. She spearheaded the newly formed internal social responsibility committee, which focuses on creating a more equitable A/E/C industry.

Middle of Six hired Traci Staffen as marketing and communications account manager. Staffen was with PSF Mechanical, overseeing marketing and communications for 12 years. She has done brand development and management, planning, and web presence and social media development. At Middle of Six, a marketing consultancy specializing in construction, architecture and engineering, she will provide marketing and communications support, including proposal development, brand strategy and planning.

Architects West hired Nathan Huestis as a BIM technician. Huestis has over 20 years of drafting experience and previously was with MSI Engineers. He is proficient in 3D design, AutoCAD and Revit and is working on the North Idaho Stem Charter Academy. He is in the Spokane office of Architects West, which provides architectural and landscape architectural/land planning services.
