McDonald

In Seattle, GGLO promoted Meaghan McDonald and Carissa Franks to principal. McDonald is licensed as an architect and as an interior designer. At GGLO, she has worked on Chambers Bay Resort in University Place and Via6 and 624 Yale, both in Seattle. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in Wyoming, California and Montana on high-end residential, education and hospitality projects. Franks has multifamily mixed-use project experience at GGLO. Some of her notable projects include the Northgate Mall redevelopment, AMLI Pierside and 624 Yale, all in Seattle. GGLO is a design practice for architecture, urban design, landscapes and interiors.

Parametrix

Kelly

Parametrix hired Liz Kelly as senior vice president overseeing its Puget Sound region, which includes practices in water, transportation, environmental and community building and offices in Seattle, Puyallup, Tacoma and Bremerton. Kelly will initially focus on continuing to grow the Puget Sound region water practice, which provides services in drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, flood control and electrical/SCADA to public clients. She has 30 years of experience in water, wastewater, drainage and solid waste utilities work. Most recently she was with Jacobs where she led the North America water sector asset management practice and was U.S. West regional lead for the strategic consulting operation. She was with Seattle Public Utilities for over 20 years. Parametrix provides engineering, planning and environmental sciences.

Galdamez

Silvia Galdamez joined Mutuus Studio in Seattle as an architectural designer after having interned for it the past two summers. Galdamez holds a bachelor of architecture degree from Cornell University with a dual concentration in the history of architecture and visual representation. Mutuus offers architecture, interiors and product design services.

Rice Fergus Miller

Quist-Therson

Bremerton-based Rice Fergus Miller hired Patricia Quist-Therson as a project manager. Quist-Therson has experience in commercial, residential and government environments with projects ranging from $500,000 to $20 million. She joins the fire and emergency services studio of the architecture, interior design, planning and visualization firm.

Metrix Engineers

Prehoda

Renton-based mechanical and electrical design and consulting firm Metrix Engineers hired Ben Prehoda as a principal. Prehoda will lead the electrical engineering studio. He has nine years of design engineering experience, most notably supporting K-12 facility design and construction administration. He recently completed design of the Puesta del Sol Elementary School in Bellevue, which will be the first net zero energy K-12 facility and the largest net zero commercial project in the state.
