APA – The Engineered Wood Association has hired Jennifer Coskren as vice president of economic analysis and market research. She brings more than 20 years of experience in economic analysis in housing and wood products markets. In her role, she will lead the association's research and analysis efforts, overseeing development of economic outlooks, industry reporting and market expertise for APA-member products.
Most recently, Coskren served as director of North American wood and timber at Fastmarkets, where she specialized in housing and econometric forecasting for timber, wood products and housing markets across the United States and Canada.
Coskren holds a Master of Science in business economics from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics, magna cum laude, from Regis College. She regularly publishes industry outlooks and advises stakeholders on macroeconomic, policy and market trends.
APA was founded in 1933 and is based in Tacoma.

Raised between farm and city in Nebraska, Laney brings an appreciation for both natural and built environments to her work. Through landscape architecture, she focuses on people and place, with a global perspective on sustainability, program and connectivity.
Laney draws inspiration from cultural landscapes around the world that offer new ways of thinking about how places function, connect and endure.

Pullman-based Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) has promoted Frank Heleniak to vice president of sales and customer service. In his new role, Heleniak will lead the sales and customer service strategy for SEL across the U.S. and Canada, focusing on growth, innovation and customer experiences.
Heleniak began his career at SEL in 2014 as an application engineering intern. Over the years, he has served in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including application engineer, team lead, regional technical manager and his most recent role as director of sales and customer service for the northeast region.
Heleniak holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and physics from Widener University and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Villanova University. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a licensed professional engineer in power systems in the state of Pennsylvania. He has served as a volunteer firefighter since 2005 for the Plymouth Fire Company in Plymouth Township, Pennsylvania. He currently serves as the department's deputy fire chief.
Heleniak will continue to be based in the SEL office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
SEL, a 100% employee-owned company headquartered in Pullman, invents, designs and builds digital products and systems to protect power grids around the world. The employee-owned company was founded in 1984 and recently expanded into medical device production.
