    Mambo Palazzo is a free spirit next to its older neighbor, now Cafe Fiore. The street setback works as a garden that is not public, but permeable.

    What's there to like in a ragged two-story, 1910 apartment-over shop building that has been through too many remodels? Maybe not a lot — but give it some company.
