Port of Everett

Klekotka

Washington State Department of Transportation Secretary Lynn Peterson has appointed John Klekotka, the chief of engineering and planning at the Port of Everett, to represent public ports on the Transportation Improvement Board. The independent state agency distributes and manages street construction and maintenance grants to 320 cities and urban counties in the state. He is responsible for the port's $25 million annual capital project budget.

McKinley Irvin, a family law firm, said Gordon W. Wilcox has joined the firm. Wilcox has more than 30 years of family law experience, specializing in complex financial, property and business matters.

Saltchuk Resources of Seattle hired Betsy Seaton as senior vice president of operations. She began her career at Boston Consulting Group and spent 22 years at Weyerhaeuser, mostly recently as VP for strategy and corporate development. She has a J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Saltchuk provides services in shipping and logistics; marine resources; trucking; air cargo and petroleum distribution. Annual revenues are $3 billion.

Andersen Tax

Andersen Tax has promoted Jan Armstrong, Scott Beauchene and Lance Vanetta, part of the Private Client Services Practice group, Valuation Services Practice group, and State and Local Services Tax group respectively. They will join the team of five managing directors in the Seattle office. Andersen Tax was formerly WTAS.

Vogele

Thomas Vogele, formerly of Michael Mondavi's Folio Fine Wine Partners, and Steve Reed have opened DrinkSpace, an agency for boutique alcohol beverage producers. It will provide sales and marketing expertise to small wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries. Vogele worked for E&J Gallo Winery and Trinchero Family Estates. Reed has 23 years of experience as a marketing executive.

Washington State University

A naming celebration for Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 on the Pullman campus of Washington State University. The new name honors Gene and Linda Voiland for their contributions to the college and WSU. Gene Voiland received a B.S. in chemical engineering from WSU in 1969 and was president and CEO of CalResources LLC and Aera Energy LLC.

Benton-Franklin Superior Court

Gov. Jay Inslee named Alex Ekstrom, an assistant U.S. attorney from Richland, as a judge in Benton-Franklin Superior Court. He fills the seat left vacant by Judge Sal Mendoza Jr., who was appointed to U.S. District Court in Eastern Washington. Ekstrom has been a federal prosecutor since 2008.

Itron

Itron of Liberty Lake named W. Mark Schmitz executive vice president and chief financial officer. He has 40 years of experience in finance in manufacturing, service, retail and technology industries, and most recently was CFO of Alghanim Industries in Kuwait.
