After a nationwide search, Flying House Productions named Steven F. Smith executive director. FHP is the parent organization for Seattle Men's Chorus and Seattle Women's Chorus, and singing groups Captain Smartypants and Sensible Shoes. Interim Executive Director Deborah Person will assist through the transition. Smith was executive director of Revels, a national multidisciplinary theater company.
Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe said John W. Wolfe and Aravind Swaminathan have joined the White Collar & Corporate Investigations Group as partners in Seattle. Wolfe has 30 years of experience as a criminal defense lawyer and Swaminathan is a former assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Washington. Orrick represents clients on databreach matters and cybersecurity.

John C. Dippold has been named president and managing partner at Carney Badley Spellman. Dippold is also co-chair of the Construction Department. His legal practice focuses on clients in Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii.

U.S. Bank named Tyler Burkland to lead the commercial banking team in Bellevue. He is returning to U.S. Bank, where he worked from 2005 to 2008 in Seattle. Burkland leads a team of 13 in offices at 10800 N.E. Eighth St.

Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson said Lori Rath has been named principal. She chairs the Estate Planning, Trusts & Probate group, and is adjunct faculty at University of Washington School of Law.
Scott Kaplan, a litigator with expertise on insurance coverage, environmental and energy work, joins Marten Law as a partner in Portland. He was with the Portland office of Stoel Rives.

Northwest Kidney Centers has named new medical directors to supervise patient care at four of its 15 dialysis centers. Dr. Scott Bieber is medical director at Scribner clinic in Northgate. Dr. Daniel Hu is medical director at the SeaTac clinic. Dr. Michael Sutters is medical director of the unit at 548 15th Ave. Dr. Raj Narajanan is medical director at 700 Broadway.
Seven attorneys joined Davis Wright Tremaine as members of the government contracting, litigation and construction groups. Six came from the Seattle office of Dorsey & Whitney: partners Lisa Marchese, Traeger Machetanz, James E. Howard and Jonathan A. DeMella; and associates Nathan Rouse and Kate Kennedy. Christine V. Williams, who was vice president and general counsel of Bering Straits Native Corp., joined as a partner. Williams will be based in Anchorage and the others are in Seattle.
