Symetra Financial Corp. of Bellevue said Chief Financial Officer Margaret Meister will become the new president and CEO on Feb. 1, 2018, replacing Tom Marra will remain as executive chairman. Tommie Brooks, senior vice president and chief actuary, will become executive vice president and CFO. Dan Guilbert, executive vice president of the Retirement Division, will also lead the Individual Life Division. Meister joined Symetra in 1988 as an actuarial student.
JND Legal Administration, a legal management and administration company based in Seattle, named Drew Sommer senior IT advisor, based in JND's New York office. He has 35 years of experience in software and infrastructure development.

Scott Dewhirst will be Tacoma Water's new superintendent. Dewhirst worked for Newport News Waterworks in Virginia for 17 years, and starts his job in October, after confirmation by the Public Utility Board. He also worked for Black & Veatch. Tacoma Water serves more than 329,000 people and has an annual operating budget of $92.8 million.
Zippy Shell, a nationwide moving and storage business, now is offering onsite, portable storage in Seattle. Customers can rent and load containers themselves, and the containers can be kept in locations such as construction sites, or parks and outdoor venues that want to store seasonal supplies. The containers can be shipped in a van or truck, and then collapsed and shipped back. Zippy Shell also provides storage services. The company was founded in Australia in 2007 and brought to the United States in 2010.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington named Jeff Engle CEO, eefective Sept. 1. He has a background in management and business development, and has been a Big Brother since 2012. The group serves Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Pacific and Grays Harbor counties.
Visualant, which provides chromatic-based identification, authentication and diagnostic solutions, said Phillip Bosua has become chief product officer. Bosua founded LIFX and created a smart light bulb that won the Edison Award.
The Seattle Times named Craig Eidem vice president of information technology. He was AboveCloud's chief technology officer and has 17 years of experience leading large-scale IT organizations, including at MegaPath and Broadvox.

Andersen Tax named Dave Anderton a managing director in the Commercial Practice group. He will be providing federal tax advisory, compliance, and provision services to clients primarily in Portland. Prior to joining Andersen Tax, he worked at EY.
Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union opened a new Burien location at 14901 Fourth Ave. S.W., Suite 107, with a new design and enhanced services. It now has nine branches in the Puget Sound region.
