Reggie Fils-Aime will retire on April 15 as president and COO of Nintendo of America in Redmond. Fils-Aime has been with Nintendo for 15 years, nearly 13 years in his current role. Doug Bowser will become the new president. Bowser is senior vice president of sales and marketing. Before joining Nintendo in 2015, he was vice president of global business planning at Electronic Arts.
Brendan McCluskey on March 18 will become the new director of the King County Office of Emergency Management. McCluskey was director of emergency management for the New Jersey state health department, and worked as an incident commander during Superstorm Sandy and other federally declared disasters on the East Coast. He replaces Walt Hubbard, who retired last year.
Setareh “SiSi” Pouraghabagher joined the board of Point B, a management consulting, digital studio, venture investment and real estate development firm in Seattle. Pouraghabagher was CFO and COO for the insurance division of Bank of America and chief administrative officer at QBE North America.
Merck is buying Immune Design for $300 million. Immune Design is a late-stage immunotherapy company using in vivo approaches to enable the body's immune system to fight disease. It has offices in Seattle and San Francisco. The deal is expected to close this spring.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission appointed Scott Chin as president. Chin joined the nonprofit last year as chief development officer. He spent 16 years at World Vision and five years at Microsoft. He succeeds Jeff Lilley, who moved back to Southern California to become a pastor.
Liz Purdy is the new executive director of Bellingham SeaFeast, an annual event that celebrates Whatcom County's maritime heritage, working waterfront, and commercial fishing and seafood industries. Purdy was associate director and is experienced in event planning.
The Seattle Office for Civil Rights has five vacancies on the Seattle Human Rights Commission. The commission seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds in human rights, law, public policy, advocacy, social services, education and business. King County Executive Dow Constantine appointed Rachel Smith as deputy executive. Smith joined the Executive Office in 2014 and will continue as chief of staff in addition to her new role. Before joining the county, she worked in government relations at Sound Transit and was a policy advisor to Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels.
Lawrence Krauter will serve on the Choose Washington New Middle-Market Airplane Council. Krauter is CEO of Spokane International Airport, Felts Field and Airport Business Park. The council is promoting Washington as the preferred location for design, production and final assembly of a new aircraft under study by Boeing.
Janet and Doug True won the 2019 5th Avenue Theatre Excellence Award. Janet's early career included public policy work at The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. She also worked in the U.S. Senate and House, and state House of Representatives. Doug is president of Gull Industries. The award will be presented Oct. 4 in Seattle.
