Seattle-based Precept Wine hired Zack Hilfman as senior vice president of sales and strategic development and Carrie Lackie as order processing supervisor; and promoted Jami Klicker to Washington on-premise territory manager. Hilfman was vice president of sales for the Northwest Division at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits. At Precept, he is responsible for key brands and national initiatives between Precept and Southern Glazer's. Lackie also came from Southern Glazer's, where she spent seven years in sales and administration. Klicker has been part of Precept's retail division since 2017, managing the Browne Family Vineyards Seattle tasting room and assisting with management of its Walla Walla flagship tasting room.
Ben Stevens is the new chief of staff for Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy. Stevens was an adviser to Dunleavy and a former state senator. He replaces Tuckerman Babcock, who will become an adviser and requested the move. Babcock was named with Dunleavy in lawsuits by three former state employees who alleged they wrongfully terminated when Dunleavy took office. Those cases are pending.
CEO World Awards named Jim Souders of Adaptiva as 2019 CEO of the Year in the Information Technology Software category. Souders has over 20 years of business experience with tech companies. Kirkland-based Adaptiva develops IT security solutions.
Penser North America won a $4.58 million contract to manage workers' compensation claims for specified contractors at the Hanford Site in Richland. The contract with the U.S. Department of Energy includes one base year and four option years. Penser has a current contract for the program that expires at the end of September. The Lacey-based company has branch offices in Richland and Anchorage.
Boeing donated $3 million to an education program that will benefit 2 million students in Brazil. The program with Ayrton Senna Institute will boost STEM and comprehensive education over the next three years. In the last two years, Boeing and Ayrton held coding classes and STEM training in 125 schools throughout Brazil.

Bradd Busick, chief information officer at MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions in Seattle, was named by Constellation Research to its 2020 Business Transformation 150 list. Executives on the list are preparing their companies as they transform in response to digital technologies.
Virginia Mason Health System has become a founding partner and official health care provider of Seattle's National Hockey League franchise. Virginia Mason also revealed plans for an outpatient medical facility at NHL Seattle's Northgate Ice Centre that will be open to the public, as well as the team. NHL Seattle's inaugural season begins in 2021.
Portland-based VertueLab won $300,000 in federal economic development funding to grow its Climate Impact Fund, which invests in Pacific Northwest startups that are developing clean technologies. The grant is from the U.S. Economic Development Administration's annual Regional Innovation Strategies competition. VertueLab is a nonprofit helping clean-tech startups get products to market.
