Stantec 'trains' rivers to protect oil flowing in the trans-Alaska pipeline

    A series of dikes project into the Sagavanirktok River as it flows alongside the buried trans-Alaska pipeline in Alaska’s North Slope Borough. The dikes redirect the river flow away from the pipeline. The Dalton Highway is farther to the left and ultimately intersects with the pipeline.

    As ice thaws across Alaska each spring, new challenges await the engineering team at Stantec's Anchorage office.
