Tom Bordner has become director of business development for both Unimark Construction Group and Servicemark Tenant Services. The closely affiliated companies are headquartered in Seattle, where Bordner leads customer development and client service activities. Unimark is a commercial and light-industrial contractor, while Servicemark provides tenant services, property maintenance and repair services to building owners, managers and tenants. Bordner was most recently with Sellen Construction. Before that, he managed his own construction company.
Pierce County Public Works and Utilities received a first place quality award from the Washington Asphalt Paving Association for its 2007 asphalt overlays project, which covered more than 11 miles of roads. It is the seventh time since 1963 that the county has received a WAPA award. Jerry Bryant is the county's field engineering manager.
Wood products company McFarland Cascade was named Supplier of the Year by the Western Building Material Association. The Tacoma-based company received the award for its participation in and support of the WBMA, a trade association serving the building materials industry in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. McFarland sales manager Phil Schumock serves on WBMA's Suppliers' Council and inside sales representative Melissa Page is a board member of the Young Westerners' Club.

Portland-area builder Marnella Homes has reemerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy after filing on April 15 for bankruptcy protection. As part of its reemergence from bankruptcy, Marnella is liquidating 14 of its completed homes in the Volare neighborhood in Happy Valley, Ore. Volare, with European-style townhomes ranging from 1,430 to 2,118 square feet, is Marnella’s primary project.
