Jon Ross was promoted to senior project manager at Ascendent Demolition in Puyallup. Ross has 11 years of industry experience, including nearly six years at Ascendent. He has worked on total building demolition, abatement and select tenant improvement projects. In his new role, Ross is leading all large-scale projects, as well as financial oversight. His goals include expanding client relations, creating a cohesive unit with estimators/project managers, and increasing the company's market share.

Renton-based Rock Project Management Services hired Fred Wilhelm as senior director of transportation. Wilhelm was a project director at Vanir Construction Management, and holds a Project Management Professional designation with the Project Management Institute. RPM provides owner's representative services to public and private clients throughout Washington that have K-12, transportation, health care, energy and technology, and tribal projects.

Housing Finance Commission

Espinoza

Gov. Jay Inslee named Pedro Espinoza of the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of Carpenters to the state Housing Finance Commission. Espinoza has been a journeyman carpenter with various locals of the union since 1999. He became a union representative and organizer in 2006. His seat on the commission will represent unions.

ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington recently picked up three new members: United Rentals, Capital One Financial and Global Plumbing. United Rentals has branches in 49 states and 10 Canadian provinces. Capital One has a 2% cashback credit card for businesses that can be used for most vendor purchases. Kent-based Global Plumbing provides re-piping, water heater installs and other plumbing services.

In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Aaron Wofford-Miles to people services director and Francesca Perry to people services generalist; and hired Greg Smith as VDC director and Casey Moore as project executive. Wofford-Miles joined Lewis in 2019, bringing an expertise in human resources. In her new role, she will support Lewis' workforce throughout Washington and Oregon. Perry joined Lewis in 2018 as a people services coordinator. She is now focusing on employee benefits and recruiting for the Seattle office. Smith was VDC director at Skanska for 11 years and more recently was the national VDC training leader for DPR Construction. Moore is working in Lewis' K-12 market for Washington. He has over 30 years of experience as an architect and owner in the K-12 market, most recently as capital projects director for the Federal Way School District.

Bickford

Local mechanical engineering and construction company UMC hired Keith Bickford as business development manager for the Controls Group and Yury Uzhansky as lead engineer. Bickford is a certified commissioning professional with over seven years of building automation experience. He holds master's degrees in architecture and environmental science. Uzhansky is a registered professional mechanical engineer with over 40 years of experience in design and construction, commissioning, start up and functional testing of different mechanical systems. Prior to joining UMC's engineering team, Uzhansky worked with UMC's construction team on multiple projects as a design engineer.

Gray Lumber Co.

deLeon

Jack deLeon is retiring after 40 years of commercial sales and service with Tacoma-based Gray Lumber Co. The company says deLeon has influenced many people in the building industry, both personally and professionally. He also dedicated much of his time to the Special Olympics program.
