ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington has four new members: the Lynnwood office of ULG Companies, a subsidiary of NSC; Three Tree Construction of Seattle; Premier Legacy Builders of Fife; and Preciso Specialized Staff of Seattle. ULG is an industrial and commercial staffing company. Three Tree is a residential and commercial general contractor providing new construction and renovations in the Puget Sound region. Premier Legacy Builders is a residential and commercial remodeling company, with projects ranging from repairs to full rebuilds, and design and layout changes. Preciso was developed to help bridge the unemployment gap for people with language barriers.

Premier Building Systems

In Puyallup, Premier Building Systems' product line now includes building material systems under the brands Premier SIPS, R-Shield Insulation, R-Shield Geofoam and Premier ICF (formerly Diamond Snap-Form). Also, the Big Sky R-Control SIPs brand is now being marketed under the Premier SIPS brand. Premier says there has been no sale, merger or change in company ownership. It has been family-owned and operated since the 1970s.

Ramsey

Trico Companies hired Chris Ramsey as a project manager based in the Tri-Cities. Ramsey has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with expertise as a carpenter, supervisor, superintendent and project manager. He has consulted on multifaceted projects and facilitated working relationships with a wide range of clients, contractors and key business partners. Trico Companies is based in Burlington.

Central Plateau Cleanup Co.

EM Richland Operations Office contractor Central Plateau Cleanup Co. hosted 20 college interns and cooperative education students this summer as part of an initiative to build and inspire the future workforce. The program offers local students employment opportunities at the Hanford Site while they earn a degree, preparing them for potential careers in the nuclear cleanup industry. Program participants work a one-year internship — part time during the school year and full time in the summer — in areas such as engineering, finance and project management. Central Plateau Cleanup Co. is working on a formalized agreement with Columbia Basin College and Washington State University Tri-Cities to grow and foster the co-op program.

IBTTA Foundation

The International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association Foundation awarded five $5,000 college scholarships to future transportation leaders. The scholarships are for those pursing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a transportation-related field of study. This year, Jasmine Platt from Boise, Idaho, was one of the recipients. Platt is studying for a doctoral degree in public policy and administration at Boise State University. The IBTTA Foundation is the educational and charitable arm of the worldwide association for the owners and operators of toll facilities and the businesses that serve them.
