DCI Engineers hired Danny Mjelde, Thomas Krause and Carl Harris as structural project engineers, Max Honkawa as a structural CAD designer and Liz Sandoval as a marketing coordinator at its Seattle headquarters. Mjelde holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Washington State University. This is his first engineering position and he is designing wood framing for the Oxford Hotel in Bellingham. Krause interned with DCI for two years and now is full time since earning his bachelor's in civil engineering from the University of Washington. He is working on the GRE BelRed East apartments. Harris holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Washington State University. This is his first job as a full-time engineer at DCI and he is working on an apartment building for Sedona Holdings in Seattle. Honkawa earned a bachelor's in economics from the University of Washington, but pursued an AAS in engineering design technology at Renton Tech. He has experience in AutoCAD and Revit. Sandoval has five years of marketing experience ranging from freelance work to an editorial assistant for Seattle Business magazine. She will assist with requests for qualifications, marketing, social marketing and events. DCI is a civil and structural consulting firm, with offices also in Spokane; Portland and Eugene, Ore.; San Diego, Irvine and San Francisco, Calif.; Austin, Texas; and Anchorage.
