Intercity Transit

Olympia's the Intercity Transit Authority (ITA) announced it is seeking individuals to serve on the ITA board or on the Community Advisory Committee. The ITA, a nine-member board of directors that sets policy and direction for the transit agency, is made up of elected officials who represent the Thurston County Board of Commissioners and the cities of Lacey, Tumwater, Olympia and Yelm, as well as a labor representative and three citizens. There is an opening for one citizen representative to serve a three-year term. The citizen representative must live within the public transportation benefit area. Intercity Transit is the only public transit authority in the state to allow citizen representatives full voting membership on its governing board. The CAC is a 20-member advisory group that provides input to the ITA on local public transportation issues. Nineteen members serve three-year terms. Members are selected to represent a cross-section of the community and geographical representation from throughout the public transportation benefit area.
