Transit measure heads to voters

SEATTLE — A measure to fund public transit and transportation programs over the next decade passed unanimously out of the Seattle City Council Tuesday and is headed to the November ballot.

The 2026 Seattle Transit Measure is funded by a 0.3% sales tax expected to generate about $138 million a year for the next 10 years. It replaces the current measure passed by Seattle voters in 2020 that's set to expire next year.
