Chicken shop set for old Amazon roost

SEATTLE — The Amazon Fresh grocery store within the AVA Capitol Hill apartment building closed about two years back. It had some 10,000 square feet at 610 E. Pike St. Kidder Mathews is tasked with filling the space, which was recently demised.

A new plan came last week for Starbird Chicken, a franchise operation, to take 2,927 square feet on the corner of Belmont. Merrick Lentz Architecture filed the proposal on behalf of a Portland client. No builder is attached at this time.
