Chronic problems can cripple companies

After nearly 40 years of observing hundreds of businesses, I have observed that their problems tend to distribute into two categories: 30 percent of problems are transitory in nature and 70 percent of problems are chronic.

And Shearer’s 30-70 model shows that both of these categories are themselves distributed in the same proportion.
