Several Northwest-based companies, or companies with Northwest offices, recently won Construction Safety Excellence awards from the Associated General Contractors of America. Poulsbo-based General Construction Co. won first place in the Heavy division and was recognized for its strong safety program and its overall safety performance during 2008. Other local first place winners included: PCL Construction, Municipal (700,001-1 million worker hours); Wildish Construction Co., Highway (300,001-700,000); PermaCold Engineering, Specialty (100,001-300,000); and Rosendin Electric, Specialty (over 1 million). Local second place winners included: BNBuilders, Building (300,001-700,000); and MWH Constructors, Construction Management (over 500,000). Kiewit Pacific Co. took third place in the Heavy (over 1 million) division.
