The Seattle Regional Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration named Randolph Construction Services as 2009 Region X Prime Contractor of the Year and Federal Engineers and Constructors as Subcontractor of the Year. Pasco-based Randolph is a registered woman-owned small business with 40 employees. It began as a mechanical construction firm and has grown into a design-build general contractor focusing on prevailing wage projects. Its safety record includes an EMR rating of 0.78. Richland-based Federal Engineers and Constructors has grown in its eight years to become a premier hazardous and radiological remediation company. The company claims its Remediation Division has cleared more contaminated nuclear and hazardous waste from underground sites than any firm in the country. Its EMR rating is 0.60.
