AGC warns rising material costs could stall projects

  • Prices jumped in February for aluminum, steel and diesel.
  • Construction material prices continued to climb in February, driven by sharp increases in metals and fuel costs, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of government data released yesterday.

    The producer price index for materials and services used in nonresidential construction rose 0.1% from January and 3.1% compared with February 2025.
