County gets $6M for EV stations

SEATTLE — King County Executive Dow Constantine yesterday announced $6 million in funding from the state Commerce Department for more than 400 new charging ports to expand access to electric vehicle (EV) charging throughout the county.

According to a press release, the county work with a range of co-applicants to submit a proposal to the Commerce Department. Funds were awarded for charging ports at 55 locations, including all nine of county's fleet charging sites, as well as at 13 multifamily residential buildings and 16 publicly accessible locations including community centers, fire stations, retail centers and Metro bus bases.
