Urban Design Forum: The Big Picture in Regional Transportation. Inform yourself for advocacy via presentations by proponents of current proposals to come before local electorates. From 4-5:30 p.m.

 
7/17 IDP for all-Interns, mentors and supervisors in Bellingham. Who should attend: Interns wishing to learn about IDP; architects serving as supervisors and mentors; and firms interested in assisting employees during their internship period. IDP State Coordinator Grace Kim AIA will provide information on IDP requirements required by WA state for licensure) as well as suggestions on how to IDP can be used for direct career development. The roles and responsibilities of supervisors and mentors will be explained. She will describe a new mentor matching program through which Interns will have the opportunity to find Mentors, and architects will have the opportunity to serve as Mentors. 7/10, 7/24, 7/31 Architecture en Progrès 4.5LUs,4.5 HSW AIA Seattle Continuing Education and KPFF present three on-site tours. 1- Seattle City Hall/innovative sustainable design elements. 2- Immunex Campus/integration of seismic elements in the campus design. 3-Marriott Hotel on the Waterfront/complexities of an urban waterfront site. From noon to 1:30 p.m.  
7/11 Double Skin/Glazed Thermal Buffer Wall 2LUs, 2HSW AIA Seattle Committee on the Environment presents a BYO hard-hat tour of the Justice Center, Fifth and Cherry, Seattle. Presentation and tour led by center designers and builders, highlighting design aspects/thermal properties for Seattle’s first double-skin wall and other sustainable features. From noon to 2 p.m.
