Wilson

Mechanical contractor UMC hired Max Wilson to serve as director of development where he will focus on enterprise clients. Wilson has 20 years of consulting engineering experience specializing in complex design, code and sustainability. He started his career in 2006 at Glumac most recently serving as their vice president, commercial sector leader, and program manager. He has led and contributed to numerous high-profile projects, including 555 Tower in Bellevue, Lakefront Blocks, eleven50 Eastlake, 701 Dexter, 400 Westlake, UW Medicine Phase 3.2, and the Allen Institute for Brain Science in Seattle, as well as the Clifford L. Allenby Building in Sacramento, California.

Parametrix

Dugan

Timmermans

Anne Timmermans has been promoted to division manager at Parametrix, overseeing program and construction management in Washington state. Timmermans joined Parametrix in 2017 and has over two decades of experience in program and construction management, including heavy civil infrastructure and mega projects. Past clients include Port of Seattle, King County and Kitsap County. Timmermans is past president of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Construction Management Association of America and served on the organization's national board of directors.

Jim Dugan has been promoted to division manager. Dugan has been with Parametrix for over 20 years and was a founding member of the firm's Tacoma office. Dugan's experience includes managing the planning, design, engineering, and construction of industrial, commercial, and institutional projects across the public and private sectors including multiple K–12 educational and public-sector programs using alternative project delivery methods. Dugan served on the Tacoma Public Schools Board of Education between 2005 and 2011 and currently serves on the Washington State Project Review Committee.

Bench Dog Architects

Macalino

Bench Dog Architects has hired Zenifer Macalino as an architectural designer. Macalino brings experience in space planning and building design, with a focus on efficiency and functionality in complex projects. She will support master planning and architectural design efforts across retail, mixed-use and community-focused projects.

The Marketing Department

Cornwell

Kylie Cornwell has been hired by The Marketing Department as marketing coordinator, where she supports social media strategy, content development, and brand communications for clients across AEC and CRE industries. She holds a master's degree in communications and digital marketing from the University of Florida. Cornwell brings a background in social media management and production, with experience at Plato's Closet and Chewy, where she supported large-scale communications and engagement initiatives.

City of Seattle

Engstrom

Mayor Katie B. Wilson announced the appointment of Randy Engstrom as the next director of Seattle Center.

Engstrom brings decades of experience in arts, culture, and public policy, including serving as director of the city of Seattle's Office of Arts & Culture.

“Seattle Center is where people come together across neighborhoods and communities to experience what makes this city special,” said Wilson. “Randy understands that, and he understands what it takes to support the artists, organizations, and staff who make that possible. I have full confidence in his leadership as we build what comes next.”

Olympic College

Recasner

The Olympic College Board of Trustees announced that Dr. Chantae Recasner has formally accepted the board's offer to serve as the 16th president of Olympic College. Recasner is expected to begin her role on May 18.

“We are thrilled that Dr. Recasner has accepted the offer to be President of Olympic College,” Board of Trustees Chair Harriette Bryant said. “Her expertise and experience leading Seattle Central College will be invaluable in her new role.”

Recasner brings more than 20 years of higher education experience and leadership, including roles as tenured faculty, dean of instruction, and vice president of instruction. She has served K-12 and higher education in various roles with a commitment to growing stronger, more equitable communities. In 2024, she was appointed interim president of Seattle Central College by the Seattle Colleges District Chancellor and Board of Trustees, a role she continues to serve in today.

She holds a doctor of philosophy (PhD) in Education from the University of Cincinnati (2009), a master of business in Operational Excellence from Ohio State University (2017), and two master of arts degrees from Ohio State University (2003) in Teaching & Learning and African and African American Studies. She earned her bachelor of arts in English from Loyola University New Orleans in 2001.

As Gensler's Global Critical Facilities leader and principal, Fanning is focused on guiding the growth of the Critical Facilities practice to meet client demand as they expand into new markets across the globe. He brings 20+ years of experience working with the world's largest tech companies, helping to build and operate their data center portfolios, and has led strategic client infrastructure initiatives across North America, Asia, LATAM, and EMEA.

Alair Homes has expanded its presence in the Pacific Northwest with the launch of Alair Seattle, bringing the company's collaborative approach to custom homebuilding to one of the most architecturally dynamic cities in the United States.

The new location is led by Jed Drenguis, owner and partner of Alair Seattle, who joins the Alair network under the regional leadership of Stacy Eakman, regional partner for Washington and partner at Alair Kirkland.
