Carol K. Nelson has been named Seattle market president and Pacific Region sales executive for KeyBank in Washington, Oregon and Alaska. She has been director and CEO of the Washington Department of Revenue and a member of Governor Jay Inslee's cabinet since 2013. She starts at Key Jan. 20. Nelson started as a management trainee with Seafirst Bank in 1978 and then worked at Bank of America, Cascade Financial Corp. and Cascade Bank.
Seattle Housing Authority named Kerry Coughlin director of communications. She will work with the Board of Commissioners, residents, elected officials, partner agencies, media, employees and other stakeholders. Coughlin was a director with the Marine Stewardship Council and a consultant to the Daniel J. Evans Graduate School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington. She also worked for Governor Chris Gregoire, The Seattle Times and YWCA.

Stoel Rives LLP, a U.S. business law firm, elected three new partners in Seattle. Erin L. Anderson works on energy services, environmental and natural resources, land use and Native American business, helping clients with permitting, developing, constructing and operating capital facilities. Aric H. Jarrett focuses on complex commercial and class action litigation. Devin P. McComb focuses on transactional real estate law, including commercial leasing; affordable housing; and commercial, industrial and agricultural properties.
Essia Health of Woodland Hills, California, a provider of medical scribes and electronic medical record services, acquired Bellevue-based Eastside Specialty Scribes. Eastside Specialty Scribes was started by emergency physician Brad Kilcline. Kilcline joins Essia Health as a physician consultant. He is a practicing physician who has been training and using medical scribes since 2008.
Bartell Drugs named Brian Unmacht president of the family-owned, 63-store chain. He was REI's executive vice president and chief operating officer and has been on Bartell's board since 2011.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices added Puyallup-based Prudential Contact Corp. Realtors to its network. The brokerage was founded in 1982, and will now be known as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate. Berkshire Hathaway now has eight offices and 375 agents in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is a subsidiary of Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. It was founded in September 2013 and has 34,548 agents and 1,075 offices in 47 states.
The Washington chapter of NAIOP named Peggi Lewis Fu executive director and Tara Young membership engagement manager. Lewis Fu will oversee day-to-day operations, and Young will lead the push to recruit and retain members. NAIOP also has two events scheduled this month. A breakfast meeting Jan. 21 at Four Seasons Seattle on “social urbanism” will look at how investments in infrastructure help improve health and safety. The 11th annual South Sound Economic Forecast is Jan. 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center. Information on both events is at http://www.naiopwa.org.
Urban Land Institute Northwest's Young Leaders Group is holding a workshop on density at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Friends of Waterfront Seattle's office at 1400 Western Ave. The goal is to recommend zoning, planning, legal and design alternatives that will encourage density and satisfy diverse stakeholders.
