Seattle-based Summit Law Group added eight lawyers: Rachael A. Curtis, Laura Davis, Angela A. Hill, Tanya Nesbitt, Jessica Mitchell, Ian T. Sutton, Jesse Taylor and Alice Truong. Curtis represents private and public entities in labor and employment matters. Davis works with public and private clients on litigation matters. Hill was in-house counsel for a Pacific Northwest homebuilder, and has land acquisition and development expertise. Nesbitt was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and focuses on environmental, antitrust and business-related law. Mitchell is experienced in leasing, acquisition and deposition, and development law. Sutton specializes in environmental land use issues including zoning, land division, shoreline development and conditional use permitting. Taylor practices in civil litigation matters such as design and construction defect claims, commercial contract disputes, intellectual property and breach of fiduciary duty. Truong's practice covers real estate, focusing on leases, administration of existing real estate holdings, multi-party easement development, and acquisition and disposition of properties.

Adaptiva

Doug Kennedy is the new chief growth officer at Adaptiva, where he is leading business development, strategic relationships and channel programs. Kennedy was an executive at Oracle, Microsoft and NetSuite. He has three decades of enterprise technology experience. Adaptiva is a Kirkland-based developer of IT security solutions.

UBS Financial Services

Forbes named Michael S. Matthews of UBS Financial Services to its list of America's Top 100 Wealth Advisors for 2019. Matthews is a managing director and financial advisor in the firm's Bellevue office.

Assurance IQ

Prudential Financial earlier this month completed its acquisition of Assurance IQ, a Bellevue-based data analytics provider of insurance services. Assurance is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Smart Foodservice

Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores on Saturday will open a 20,300-square-foot store at 1240 Lindsay Blvd. in Idaho Falls, its fifth in Idaho. Portland-based Smart Foodservice is a chain of 69 warehouse-format stores in the western U.S. catering to the food service industry. It used to be called Cash & Carry.

The Walsh Group

Thompson

Seth J. Thompson joined The Walsh Group in Seattle as an assistant project manager. Thompson comes from Skanska USA Civil and has been in the construction industry for about six years, as a project engineer and cost engineer. At Walsh, he is working on the Hilltop Tacoma Link light rail extension.

Forma Construction Co.

Rich

In Olympia, Forma Construction Co. promoted Brian Rich to director of preconstruction and principal in the leadership group. Rich started in the company's mail room 20 years ago and has been an estimator for a number of those years. Forma says it's been in a period of strong growth, with revenues doubling over the past few years.

City of Kenmore

Moen

The city of Kenmore named Brandon Moen as its next chief of police. Moen is a sergeant and 13-year veteran of the King County Sheriff's Office, where he is assigned to the city of Shoreline. The King County Sheriff's Office contracts its law enforcement services with both cities. Moen will start his new role next month. He replaces Peter Horvath, who is being promoted to captain in the King County Sheriff's Office. Kenmore's police department consists of 14 officers, including one detective.

Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon next year will open its first fulfillment center in Idaho in partnership with Panattoni Development Co. The 650,000-square-foot building will be located in Nampa and will create over 1,000 full-time jobs.

Skagit County

Skagit County's Poop Smart campaign won a Diamond Award from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association. The campaign is a collaboration between Skagit County's Pollution Identification and Correction Program and PRR, a Seattle-based communications firm. The goal of the campaign is to reduce levels of fecal coliform bacteria in surface waters by raising awareness of proper poop-related choices. Only three of more than 700 entries received the Diamond Award. The campaign also received the Savvy Award in the Marketing and Tools — Best Use of Humor category.

Dutch Bros. Coffee

Phoenix-based RJ Russo installed Dutch Bros. Coffee's first factory-built modular drive-thru, in Gresham, Oregon. Russo formed a partnership with Dutch Bros. for future factory-built units. The collaboration includes Luna Design and Construction. Russo uses steel and sustainable products instead of wood and other deteriorating products to maximize the life span of its modular units. Dutch Bros. is based in Grants Pass, Oregon, and has over 350 locations in seven states.

Idaho National Laboratory

Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls won a 2019 PMI Project Excellence Award from the Project Management Institute. INL won the kudos for its $77.6 million Remote-Handled Low-Level Waste Disposal Project. The awards program recognizes complex projects with budgets under $100 million.
