Richmond

Bonneville Seattle Media Group announced that Jim Richmond will serve as its new director of sales, replacing Cathy Cangiano, who was promoted to senior vice president and market manager in Seattle. Richmond's sales management experience includes positions with CBS Radio, Clear Channel and Entercom in Denver, Seattle and San Francisco. Most recently, Richmond was the general sales manager at Entercom in San Francisco. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Bonneville operates radio and TV stations, local websites and other digital distribution assets in six western U.S. markets.

Seattle Art Museum

The Seattle Art Museum and the Betty Bowen committee, chaired by Gary Glant, announced that Dawn Cerny is the winner of the 2020 Betty Bowen Award. The juried award comes with a cash award of $15,000 and a solo exhibition at SAM. Founded in 1977 to continue the legacy of local arts advocate and supporter Betty Bowen, the annual award honors a Northwest artist for their original, exceptional and compelling work. In 2016, Cerny was the recipient of a Betty Bowen Special Recognition Award and in 2019 was an Artist in Residence at Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood. Her work will be featured at the Seattle Art Museum in a solo exhibition in 2021. In addition, Elijah Hasan won the Special Recognition Award and Tariqa Waters won the Kayla Skinner Special Recognition Award. The six finalists were chosen from a pool of 615 applicants from Washington, Oregon and Idaho to compete for the $23,750 in awards.

WSU College of Medicine

Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine announced that it has earned accreditation to launch its first residency program and is accepting applications immediately. The WSU Internal Medicine Residency Program-Everett, based at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, is a three-year residency training program with a focus on primary care. Sixteen resident positions have been approved for the first year; 12 categorical and four preliminary positions will be added in June 2021 with 12 more added each year over three years to cap at 40 total residency positions when fully supported. The program received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education after a two-year development process following the college's initial ACGME accreditation as a sponsoring institution in 2018.

Gantry makes $5.6 Woodinville refi deal

Gantry announced the recent provision of a nearly $5.6 million, 10-year loan to refinance an industrial property in Woodinville. The borrower, an LLC related to Underwood Gartland Development of Bellevue, is the owner of a 71,750-square-foot industrial building at 8415 216th St. S.E. The building is fully leased to Bio-Rad Laboratories, a global leader of life science research and clinical diagnostic products. Gantry's Michael Wood and Colin Ceithaml secured the funding. Wood said in a statement, “State Farm stepped up for a repeat borrower and put forth a great non-recourse quote with a 30-year amortization and lower rate than competitive lenders. It helped that the property is home to an investment grade tenant, because that checks off a big box for lenders seeking to hedge against risk in today's COVID-19 environment.”

Ostrander moves to Realogics

Industry veteran Peter Ostrander announced that he's joined the Belltown office of Realogics Sotheby's International Realty (RSIR). Ostrander said in a statement, “For over 35 years I have established a career in real estate through sales, marketing, title insurance, and mortgage origination. I'm thrilled to announce that I've started a new journey as a real estate broker.”

United Ways of the Pacific Northwest

Olympia-based United Ways of the Pacific Northwest launched the Pacific Northwest Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund in response to the wildfires devastating parts of Oregon, Idaho and Washington. UWPNW will work in partnership with local United Ways in impacted communities across the region. United Way will use all donations to help provide displaced families with access to food, shelter, childcare, health care and other critical services. UWPNW will distribute funds to local United Ways in areas impacted by fires.

Shannon & Associates

Kent-based accounting firm Shannon & Associates has been named one of the 2020 Best Accounting Firms to Work For by Accounting Today and Best Companies Group. Shannon & Associates was listed as the 26th Best Small Firm to Work For. This annual survey and awards program recognizes the best employers in the accounting profession across the country. Selection is determined using a two-part survey process, and the combined scores decide the top companies and their final ranking. Smartsheet

Smartsheet, located in Bellevue, announced that it has completed its acquisition of Brandfolder, a leader in digital asset management. This acquisition combines Brandfolder's DAM capabilities with Smartsheet's work management platform. Smartsheet paid $155 million for the acquisition, subject to certain adjustments, with a combination of cash and stock.

Resourceful HR

OneDigital, a strategic advisory firm, has acquired Resourceful, a human resources consulting company, located in Seattle.This adds to the company's growing HR consulting division throughout the Northwest. Headquartered in Atlanta, OneDigital has been named to the Inc. 5000 List of America's fastest-growing companies every year since 2007, and is currently listed as 18th on Business Insurance's list of 100 Largest U.S. Brokers.Resourceful, founded by Jennifer Olsen in 2008, provides HR services from recruiting and compliance to compensation and benefits.

TrueBlue

TrueBlue, based in Tacoma, announced Brannon Lacey has been named president of PeopleScout, a division of TrueBlue. Lacey replaces outgoing interim president Chip Holmes. Lacey most recently served as the president and chief product officer of benefits solutions at Alight, a capital and business solutions provider. Prior to Alight, Lacey spent more than four years at Rackspace, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of application services. Before that, Lacey served as a principal at Samsung Ventures. TrueBlue is a provider of specialized workforce solutions. PeopleScout offers recruitment process outsourcing and managed service provider solutions.
