Seattle-based Impinj, announced that Steve Sanghi has joined its board of directors. Sanghi was named executive chairman of Microchip Technology in March 2021 after serving as Microchip's CEO from 1990 in one of the longest CEO tenures in the semiconductor industry. He was its chairman since 1993. Before Microchip, Sanghi held management positions at Waferscale and Intel. He holds a bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications from Punjab University and a master of science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts.
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates has announced several appointments to its winemaking team, under the direction of chief winemaker Juan Munoz-Oca. Katie Nelson, who previously oversaw winemaking for Columbia Crest and elicit Wine Project, has been appointed to oversee winemaking for Chateau Ste. Michelle, the company's flagship brand. Nelson first joined Ste. Michelle Wine Estates in 1999, going on to serve as an enologist at Northstar Winery, assistant winemaker for Snoqualmie Vineyards, and red winemaker for Chateau Ste. Michelle. Will Wiles has been appointed to replace Nelson overseeing winemaking for Columbia Crest and elicit Wine Project. Wiles began his career at Columbia Crest in 2010. In Oregon, Leah Adint, previously the red winemaker for Chateau Ste. Michelle, has been appointed to work alongside longtime winemaker Gary Horner at Erath Winery, one of Oregon's pioneering wineries and producer of the region's best-selling pinot noir. Ste. Michelle Wine Estates is the largest winery in the Pacific Northwest and the third-largest premium winery in the United States.
The Tacoma Housing Authority received a $100,000 grant from Umpqua Bank. The grant will help boost services at the newly opened Arlington Apartments for young adults 18 to 24 who are — or are at risk of being — homeless or transitioning from foster care. The grant will help provide residents with childcare, job searches, distance learning, and other support they need on the way to a successful adulthood. Umpqua Bank announced its grants in December 2020, recognizing nonprofits who adapted and expanded services to underrepresented communities related to the pandemic and wildfires. The other two grant recipients were Roseburg-based NeighborWorks Umpqua and Sacramento-based Alchemist Community Development. Established in 1940, Tacoma Housing Authority provides stable and sustainable housing and supportive services to people in need.
The Washington State Fair at the Puyallup Fairgrounds will be held April 7-11 and 14-18, 2021. The fair will be held in a hybrid manner this year: drive-thru, and experience the fair from your vehicle; step-out, and you will have the chance to get out of your vehicle for select entertainment experiences; walk-in, and enjoy the rides and games; and drive-in, and experience a movie from your car. Kidder Mathews announced that its president and COO, Brian Hatcher, has been appointed as chair of the board of directors for the Commercial Brokers Association. He's been on the board for four years, and has been with KM for over two decades.


Cushman & Wakefield announced the recent hiring of veteran brokers Andrew Shultz and Brandon Burmeister. Both had been with the firm earlier in their careers, and both were most recently with Colliers. C&W's Alison Beddard said in a statement, “We are excited to welcome Andrew and Brandon to Cushman & Wakefield. They are proactive, hands-on professionals who take pride in tackling new challenges while always putting clients at the forefront.” Their focus will be on agency leasing and property sales.
American Capital Group of Bellevue has a new acquisitions manager in John Lo, who makes the move from CBRE. ACG's BJ Kuula said in a statement, “John is a seasoned industry veteran with deep experience leading teams to achieve new levels of success, and we expect the same at ACG.” Lo has over 27 years of experience, including prior stints at JLL and Eastdil Secured. He said, “I have watched for years as ACG has continued to improve communities across the West with their real estate investments. I am excited to join the ACG team, and look forward to growing the portfolio nationally.” Family-run ACG says it now has over 80 multifamily properties with more than 16,000 units in 10 states. It recently partnered with Artemis Real Estate Partners, of Los Angeles, to buy three projects that Katerra is building in Kirkland and Oregon. That deal was worth almost $94 million.

JLL recently honored managing director Lisa Stewart with one of its “Champions of Excellence” awards. The company says that, since it acquired her old firm Urbis Partners in 2017, she's helped lease over 7 million square feet. Recent deals have included Apple at Kilroy Realty's 333 Dexter. She's also part of the team leasing the 801 Third Ave. tower, aka The Net, for Urban Visions.

Keller Williams Greater Seattle said last week that Heather Rickman has joined the residential brokerage; her affiliated company is Rickman Real Estate. KWGS's Angie Mykel said in a statement, “At Keller Williams we believe in success through others and having a high-caliber broker like Heather on our team is a huge win for us.” Rickman closed $13.8 million in deals last year; some of those are also as a wholesaler of “flip” properties. KWGS says it now has about 191 associated brokers, who last year closed about 400 sales worth about $827 million.

Kidder Mathews announced the recent hiring of Andrew Norris. He'll be a VP who specializes in manufactured housing communities and RV parks. He makes the move from Marcus & Millichap. During his time there, he did over $130 million in deals.
