Gray

TAPCO appointed Sarah Gray as its new chief people & inclusion officer. Gray joined TAPCO from Child Care Resources, serving as the chief human resources officer. In this role, Gray led all sectors of the department across the organization, and was responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, employee/labor relations, diversity and inclusion, compliance, recruitment, talent planning, learning and development, organizational development, compensation, benefits, and workforce planning. Previously, Gray worked for Bellevue College in the Human Resources Department and as an associate dean of workforce education. She has an undergraduate degree in Human Resources and Business Management and a master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Founded in 1934, TAPCO Credit Union is a Pierce County-based and community-focused financial institution.

IRG Physical & Hand Therapy

IRG Physical & Hand Therapy is hosting its fifth annual charity golf tournament on Aug. 8 at the Everett Golf & Country Club. ZoomInfo

Vancouver-based ZoomInfo, a software, data and intelligence firm, announced the appointment of Tomer Gershoni as its chief security officer. Gershoni will lead ZoomInfo's information security team. He'll work closely with Simon McDougall, ZoomInfo's chief compliance officer, and ZoomInfo's privacy team to ensure the limited, non-sensitive data the company collects and stores remains protected. Gershoni served as chief information security officer and head of cyber defense for the Israel National Cyber Directorate. He also previously served as the chief products security officer of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's software business unit and CISO for the company's SaaS business. Gershoni most recently served as senior director and head of security engineering & cyber defense center for Imperva.

Let's go to Liberty Bank with ULI!

The fairly new Liberty Bank Building, developed by Community Roots Housing, has been an important anchor at 23rd and Union, since opening three years ago. The design by Mithun has picked up its share of awards and honors. Now the local chapter of the Urban Land Institute is offering a tour on Aug. 11 for the 115-unit affordable housing project. One of the commercial tenants, the restaurant Communion, will provide the finger food for the post-tour happy hour. The tour begins at 4 p.m. Details and registration: northwest.uli.org. The ULI is also planning upcoming tours of Solis, on Capitol Hill, and HopeWorks Station North, up in Everett.

Kaseguma

Portman recently announced that Evan Kaseguma joined the firm as senior VP for its Northwest region. He makes the move from Gemdale USA. Portman CEO Ambrish Baisiwala said in a statement, “The Northwest region is a high-growth market with amazing fundamentals, from office and retail to life sciences. As we continue to grow Portman's flag in a concentrated way here, we will also continue to grow our team.” Including the Chapter Buildings, recently begun north of U District Station, Portman says it has 1.4 million square feet planned in our region. Said Kaseguma, “I've spent my entire career in Seattle, and joining Portman, which has one of the strongest reputations in the industry, as it is deepening its presence here is exciting.”

Amazon adds new retail to its buildings

The late-pandemic news isn't all bad for ground-level retail and restaurants. While Pioneer Square and the central business district can be bleak, South Lake Union and the Denny Triangle will get a boost from four new tenants that Amazon has announced for three of its buildings. Expected to open in the coming months are Mainstay Provisions, expanding from Phinney Ridge, in the fairly new Frontier building; Kathmandu MoMoCha — currently a food truck operation — and Salon Voda in the old Rufus building in SLU; and Manna, which will fill a vacant space at the Cricket building, also in SLU.

A bit more about West Edge sale

Urban Visions sold its four-year-old West Edge apartment tower back in February for $293 million. The 39-story, 340-unit tower went to PGIM Real Estate, which didn't comment at the time. This month, however, the new owner said it recently closed a $295 million green financing fund, part of which had been deployed for the West Edge deal. PGIM's Christy Hill said in a statement, “The acquisition of West Edge also marks another step toward fulfilling our commitment to ESG, as we strive to do the right thing for our people, the environment, and the communities where we invest.” PGIM currently has some $209.3 billion in assets under management, and continues to be an active buyer and seller in our market. PGIM also says all 11,000 square feet of the retail at West Edge is now fully leased. Kuhl is the marquee tenant on the corner of Second Avenue and Pike Street.

JLL secures nearly $30M for senior housing refi

JLL Capital Markets recently announced that it had done a refinance deal worth nearly $29.6 million on behalf of Mirror Lake Village, in Federal Way. The bank lender wasn't named. Alanna Ellis led the effort for JLL. She said in a statement, “We were very pleased to deliver such a unique execution to our clients, whose project was first delayed due to COVID and then delivered into a difficult environment.” The note carries a 5.25% rate with an interest-only term of 10 years. She also said the loan was retroactively made a C-PACE deal; that's what the industry calls a Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy instrument. The owner and borrower broke ground circa 2019 on the low-rise complex circa 2019; it has 114 units.

orthwest Kidney Centers has named Robin Larmer vice president of legal affairs and chief compliance officer and John Rodgers vice president of information technology. Previously, Larmer was vice president of compliance at Molina Healthcare of Washington and chief compliance and regulatory affairs officer at Santa Clara Family Health Plan in San Jose, California. She holds a law degree from the University of Minnesota and a master of science in rehabilitation psychology and special education from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In her role at Northwest Kidney Centers, Larmer is responsible for all legal services to ensure the organization's operations are in full legal compliance and provides counsel on complex issues. Rodgers background includes more than 20 years of experience with not-for-profit, for-profit and startup healthcare organizations. Most recently, he served as the CIO for Cambridge Healthcare Services. He also spent 12 years with Kaiser Permanente and moved to Washington as the Regional CIO when it purchased Group Health in 2017. He has bachelor's degrees in Computer and Information Science and Economics from the University of California (Irvine and Santa Cruz). Northwest Kidney Centers, founded in Seattle in 1962, is a regional, not-for-profit, community-based provider of kidney dialysis, public health education and research into the causes and treatments of chronic kidney disease.

Pacific Program Management added Janiel Eggleston to its executive leadership team as CFO. A Seattle native, Eggleston graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in accounting and business management and has built a career over more than 20 years leading financial strategy for high-tech, retail and health care firms as both an internal finance director and a consultant. She has worked with large public entities and private equity-backed and early-stage companies. Prior to joining PPM, Eggleston held various roles at drugstore.com, before launching her own consulting practice in 2004. During that time, she led financial strategies for a diverse clientele, including ICO Global Communications, Navigating Cancer, F5, Imagen Capital Management and FIRST Robotics. Founded in 2009, PPM is a commercial real estate program and project management firm headquartered in Seattle.

Along with localized network experience data, CellRebel brings data visualization capabilities to support mobile network performance and optimization use cases, and a host of real-world consumer experience measurements to Ookla's portfolio. Ookla is part of Ziff Davis, a digital media and internet company whose portfolio includes leading brands in technology, entertainment, shopping, health, cybersecurity, and martech. Ookla's headquarters is located in Seattle. CellRebel is a telecom company offering an analytics platform that helps network operators, their related service providers, and application developers to better understand and improve customer experiences and network quality globally.
