ExtraHop

Seattle-based ExtraHop, a provider of cloud-native network intelligence, has been named as a Representative Vendor in the 2022 Gartner Market Guide for Network Detection and Response. This is the third time that ExtraHop has been named as a Representative Vendor among the nineteen NDR vendors recognized. The report analyzes network detection and response (NDR) vendors and summarizes their product capabilities for consideration by global security management leaders. ExtraHop's cloud-native NDR solution, Reveal(x) 360, uses a decryption process that allows security teams to unify security controls across hybrid, multi-cloud, containerized and IoT environments. The Market Guide for Network Detection and Response was previously published as the Market Guide for Network Traffic Analysis in 2019.

TurnOnGreen

Imperalis Holding, to be renamed TurnOnGreen, announced the expansion of the company's electric vehicle charging network through the addition of two AVIS Car Rental locations in Alaska. The company has deployed and activated multiple high-power networked EVP1100 Level 2 EV chargers at the AVIS licensee's Anchorage and Juneau locations. AVIS Alaska has operated locations in Alaska for 65 years. As an AVIS system licensee, AVIS Alaska operates 12 locations throughout Alaska and maintains one of the largest vehicle fleets in the State.

TurnOnGreen offers scalable EV charging solutions for all types of commercial fleets. The company's charging station products, charging management software, and network services allow fleet operators to charge multiple vehicles rapidly and track energy use by the vehicle.

As part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Alaska Energy Authority will receive $7.8 million in federal fiscal year 2022 and $11.1 million in federal fiscal year 2023 from the United States Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program. AEA anticipates receiving approximately $52 million over the next five years through this program to build a network of DC fast chargers throughout Alaska. TurnOnGreen is headquartered in Milpitas, California.

NW Natural

Jon Huddleston, vice president of engineering and utility operations at NW Natural announced his retirement after 32 years at the company. Huddleston began his career at NW Natural journey as a design engineer and over the years has led engineering, technical training, business systems support, business analytics, technology implementation and federal pipeline safety compliance for the company. In his most recent role, he oversaw transmission and distribution construction, gas operations and maintenance, storage and plant operations, and gas control. In his career at NW Natural, Huddleston played a part in a multi-year initiative to standardize operations across company locations, essentially redesigning how NW Natural operated. He also worked with the Western Regional Operations Group in designing a peer-reviewed employee safety program that was soon employed nationally by the American Gas Association and is still used today. Huddleston will officially depart next spring, and the NW Natural Board of Directors has named Joe Karney to the position of vice president of engineering and utility operations, effective April 1, 2023. Karney started his career with Colonial Pipeline in Georgia, and then joined NW Natural as an integrity engineer. He has held positions in integrity management, construction operations, code compliance, and engineering and is currently senior director of utility operations. NW Natural is a local distribution company that provides natural gas service to approximately 2.5 million people in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

DCI Engineers has welcomed Tom Woodcock as the firm's new PNW Business Development Manager, based out of the Seattle office. Woodcock has an established background in international relations, commercial real estate, and media.

Woodcock became a local public figure in the Pacific Northwest AEC industries through BISNOW. At DCI, he will harness his industry skills to optimize the deluge of market data to inform strategic decision making, channel energy, and tell compelling and informed stories.

Herrera has welcomed seven new employees located across Seattle, Portland, Missoula, and California: Stacy Luell, Joanna Ogintz, Arghya Kannadaguli, Ben Bagniewski, Scott Shumway, Jillian Sullivan, and Liza Holtz.

Luell is a senior engineer based out of Los Angeles, California. She has over ten years of experience in stormwater quality and hydrology data analysis, best management practices (BMP), siting, performance evaluations, and reporting; monitoring plan development; field sampling; and construction oversight.

Ogintz is a senior engineer based out of Herrera's Portland office. She has over twenty years of experience in stormwater design, green infrastructure, and hydrologic modeling of stormwater. Joanna comes to Herrera from Oldcastle Infrastructure where she worked as a regulatory manager.

Kannadaguli is a GIS Analyst based out of Herrera's Seattle office. She is a recent graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in Geography Data Science with a minor in Informatics and Applied Math.

Bagniewski is a GIS Analyst based out of Herrera's Missoula office. He has a bachelor's degree in Geography/Geographic Information Systems from University of Minnesota, Duluth and has recently completed as master's degree in Environmental Conservation: Environmental Observation and Informatics.

Shumway is a part-time environmental scientist based out of Herrera's Seattle office. He has three years of experience in environmental science and field sampling, previously working for WISErg Corporation as a field service technician.

Sullivan is Herrera's new human resources director based out of the Seattle office. She has over 15 years of experience working with AEC and non-profit organizations to support business operations, drive strategic areas of focus, and support equity and social justice initiatives.

Holtz is an environmental designer based out of Herrera's Portland office. She has a bachelor's degree in Natural Systems from University of Puget Sound and is a recent graduate of University of Oregon with a master's degree in Landscape Architecture.

OAC announced the addition of Salla Eckhardt. Effective Jan. 3, Eckhardt will join the firm as SVP of its commercial market.

Eckhardt has been digitally transforming the face of the built environment industry for over 20 years. Formerly the Director of Microsoft's Digital Building Lifecycle and Innovation, she brings her ability to lead multimillion dollar programs and catalyze diverse teams around industry-wide innovation like BIM, digital construction, and digital twin programs. Her passion for improving the built environment has resulted in a unique career path combining academia, design, engineering, construction, and finance in different key stakeholder roles. A project manager in her earlier career, Salla has built her reputation as someone who fosters organizational wisdom and is an acknowledged leader in the AEC community.

The Sazan Group announced that associate Phil Roach has received a Fellow Award (FASSE) from ASSE International. ASSE International is a 113-year-old membership organization composed of members representing all disciplines of the plumbing and mechanical industries. Each year national board members and past presidents choose no more than three members to receive fellowship status. This prestigious award is presented to an active member that has served as officer, regional director, or committee person at the chapter or national level.

Roach has more than 40 years' experience in the industry—including design for a groundbreaking water filtration system at Doernbecher Children's Hospital on the Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) campus— and is an expert in plumbing design. He has specialized in plumbing for healthcare, laboratory, educational, and commercial facilities. As an ASSE chapter president he has contributed to the development of multiple ANSI/ASSE standards. He has helped the development of several standards including ASSE Series 6000, the Professional Qualifications Standard for Medical Gas Systems Personnel and ASSE Series 12000, the Professional Qualifications Standard for Water Management and Infection Control Risk Assessment for Building Systems. The latter includes water quality and legionella mitigation.

Hensel Phelps promoted Scott Bills, DBIA, LEED AP, to vice president and district manager of the Pacific Northwest Region. Bills holds a bachelor's degree in technology management from Utah Valley University, and began his career with Hensel Phelps in 2000 as a field engineer in Sacramento, California. Since then, he has risen through the ranks and provided executive leadership on projects for clients including the Port of Seattle, Sound Transit, General Services Administration, Tacoma Public Schools and the University of Washington. The company also promoted Seth Stenerodden to project superintendent and brought on Haniyyah Madyun as a senior estimator in the Pacific Northwest office. Stenerodden joined the company in 2020 as an area superintendent for the Port of Seattle's North Concourse modernization project. He has 16 years of construction industry experience. Madyun began her career with Hensel Phelps in 2005 in the Mid-Atlantic office as an intern. Her background includes conceptual estimating on highly technical alternative delivery method projects.

Mukilteo-based UMC hired Hailee Hammerquist as an energy engineer in the Energy and Environment Group; Abraham Hagos, Lisa Gerboth and Gavin Vodopich as project engineers and ShirleyAnn England as a project coordinator in the Industrial Group; Danielle Tieskotter as an operations coordinator in the Facility Services Group; and Michael Feaster as an estimator in the Estimating Department. Hammerquist, LEED Green Associate, is creating energy models for new and existing facilities, and developing energy conservation projects through on-site auditing and engineering analysis. Hagos, Gerboth and Vodopich are assisting with estimating and bidding, submittal drafts and vendor communications. England is supporting the project teams. Tieskotter is responsible for scheduling and dispatch of HVAC and plumbing technicians. Feaster is responsible for accurate and consistent project estimates.
