Blueline recently hired Andy McAndrews as director of planning. McAndrews received his degree in Housing and Urban Development with a focus on Urban Planning from Arizona University and has spent the last decade as the land use director at a local surveying company before joining Blueline.
Blueline also recently hired Amanda Hunt as a planner. Hunt received her BA in Environmental Studies with a focus on environmental policy and geography from Western Washington University and served as a land use planner for the Jefferson County Department of Community Development for the past two years.
Kristal Keating has joined the firm as a project manager. Keating attended the University of Washington where she received her degree in Civil Engineering. She worked at Blueline in 2012 and left in 2014 to live in San Diego where she worked on the San Diego Pure Water Program where sewer water was treated to be reused and drinkable.







Swenson Say Fagét Structural Engineers announced two promotions in Seattle and Tacoma and six new hires in the Seattle office in December.
Holly Ashford and Taylor Vincent were promoted to project engineers. A University of Texas/Austin graduate where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering degree in 2016, Ashford moved to Seattle and began working at SSF in 2019. Current projects include several single-family home projects and a tenant improvement in Redmond for Flatstick Pub.
Vincent graduated from Washington State University in 2018 with a Masters in Structural Engineering and started working in the SSF Tacoma office in 2019. Currently, he is working on home additions/renovations in Tacoma, Bellevue, Seattle, and Olalla, and one restaurant remodel in Tacoma.
Upon graduation from Purdue University in May with her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Structural Concentration, Alyssa Dang joined SSF. Along with various single-family home projects, she's also working on a new memory care facility in Allyn, Washington.
Raised in Sammamish, Elliot Holzhauer completed his Master of Science in Structural Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland earlier this year. He returned to the Seattle area to start his career and has been working on a variety of single-family residences.
Ethan Chamberlain graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Vermont. He worked in Vermont and Connecticut for five years, then moved to Seattle in 2022 and joined SSF. His focus is currently on seismic retrofit projects and single-family residential construction.
Sebastian Quintana completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Washington. After three years with another firm, he joined SSF and is working on the Fryar Avenue Mixed-use project in Sumner, a commercial elevator addition in San Rafael, and some steel framing design for an office building in the U District.
SSF also welcomed new CAD staff Kellen Bresko and Brennen Herron. Bresko recently completed CAD training at Seattle Central College and joined SSF in June. Herron received his AA in Drafting Design Technology from Green River College, worked with another local structural firm for five years, and joined SSF in July.
Seattle music station MOViN 92.5, announced a four-year contract extension of its morning show “Brooke & Jeffrey in the Morning”, featuring Brooke Fox, Young Jeffrey, Jose Bolanos, newest member, Alexis Fuller and producer Steve Boyd. “Brooke & Jeffrey in the Morning” airs weekday mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on MOViN 92.5 and is syndicated by Premiere Networks, airing on more than 50 stations nationwide. The show features conversation on the latest happenings in pop culture and entertainment, skits, and listener interaction..

5G Americas, a wireless cellular industry trade association, announced Neville Ray, president of technology at T-Mobile US has been re-elected as chairman of the 5G Americas Board of Governors for 2023. Barbara Baffer, Ericsson, vice president, government & policy advocacy has been re-elected as treasurer. Ray is responsible for the management and development of T-Mobile's wireless network, the company's information technology services, and technology operations. He has more than 30 years of experience building and operating wireless networks in the US and around the world. Ray has been a member of the 5G Americas Board for more than 12 years and previously served two multi-year terms as chairman. Baffer has been with Ericsson for 32 years working in several different roles. She leads Ericsson's regulatory and legislative advocacy efforts in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, she serves on the executive committee of Tech Titans. Headquartered in Bellevue, 5G Americas is an industry trade organization composed of telecommunications service providers and manufacturers. The organization's mission is to facilitate and advocate for the advancement and transformation of LTE, 5G and beyond throughout the Americas.
Bellevue-based CoreStack, a global multi-cloud governance provider, announced that Sanjeev Arya has joined the CoreStack leadership team as managing director – Europe. Arya will be charged with expanding CoreStack's global presence by developing relationships with customers and strategic partners across Europe. CoreStack was recently ranked the 78th fastest growing company in North America on the 2022 Deloitte Technology Fast 500. Arya has more than 27 years of global business experience, including nearly two decades in sales and management leadership positions with global systems integrators like Capgemini and Infosys. Northwest Kidney Centers has named Sarah Cordeiro vice president of business development, Liberty Stansberry vice president of human resources, and has promoted Liz McNamara to chief administrative officer and Stephanie Pitts to vice president of marketing and communications. Cordeiro has worked in healthcare for 14 years, serving in senior-level business and growth development for numerous organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest. In her role at Northwest Kidney Centers, she will manage strategic partnerships and work with joint venture partner, Satellite Healthcare, to identify, develop and pursue new growth opportunities. Stansberry, joined Northwest Kidney Centers in November. She has more than 20 years' human resources experience in non-profit, legal and environmental consulting, and senior housing. In her role at Northwest Kidney Centers, Stansberry will oversee all human resources functions. As chief administrative officer, McNamara will continue to lead the operations of Northwest Kidney Centers' three service lines – in-center, acute services and home – and will now oversee Certificate of Need applications, regulatory compliance and joint venture activities. McNamara has been with Northwest Kidney Centers since 2018, serving as chief nursing officer and vice president of patient services. Pitts was recently promoted from director to vice president of marketing and communications. Prior to joining Northwest Kidney Centers in August 2021, she worked as a communications leader for private companies in the construction space for 11 years. She will take on an expanded marketing and communications leadership role in her new position. Founded in Seattle in 1962, Northwest Kidney Centers is a regional, not-for-profit, community-based provider of kidney dialysis, public health education and research into the causes and treatments of chronic kidney disease.



Foster Garvey announced the elevation of five lawyers to principal, effective Jan. 1. This includes three lawyers in the firm's Seattle office, Devra Cohen, Alyssa Melter and Kinnon Williams. Cohen is a member of Foster Garvey's Litigation team, representing clients in environmental litigation and business disputes and complex commercial matters, at the trial court and appellate levels. She has experience before all levels of federal and state courts. Cohen has an active pro bono practice. Prior to joining the firm, she was a judicial law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and for the Washington State Supreme Court. She earned her J.D. (Order of the Coif) from the University of Washington School of Law. Melter focuses on the resolution of labor issues for both public and private sector employers. Additionally, Melter has experience in grievance arbitrations and settlement negotiations, unfair labor practice proceedings and related appeals. Prior to joining the firm, she was a judicial law clerk for the Washington State Supreme Court. She earned her J.D. (summa cum laude) from Gonzaga University School of Law. Williams focuses on assisting public entities and private property owners in eminent domain and municipal law matters, handling negotiations and litigation. He provides special legal counsel to local governments and is the co-author of the 2010 Washington State Bar Association Real Property Deskbook Chapter on eminent domain and will release the updated chapter in 2023. Williams is a board member of the Washington State Bar Foundation and has served in a variety of roles on the King County Bar Association. He holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. Foster Garvey has offices in Seattle, New York and Spokane.

Mukilteo-based UMC announced that longtime leader Jerry Bush retired at the end of 2022 after 33 years with the company. Bush served as president and CEO for two decades. The move was part of a leadership transition that began in March 2021 when Steve Brooks was elected president and Bush transitioned solely to CEO. Bush worked his way up through the ranks at the company, as a project manager, construction manager and operations manager. He was appointed president and CEO in 2001, the same year the company's headquarters moved from north Seattle to Mukilteo. He went on to lead the company through 9/11, the Great Recession and COVID-19 pandemic. Bush also founded the UMC Charitable Foundation, worked with the Mechanical Contractors of America of Western Washington, and negotiated with unions for over 20 years.
“We are all indebted to Jerry's smart, compassionate, and operationally focused leadership style, which helped diversify our service offerings and strengthen our position in the industry,” Brooks said in a news release. “His fortitude led us through opportunities and challenges alike and into our 100th year in business.”
UMC is a mechanical engineering, facilities maintenance and construction company.
Vancouver, B.C.-based equipment auctioneer Ritchie Bros. acquired a controlling stake in transportation technology and services company VeriTread. Ritchie Bros. says the move will accelerate its marketplace strategy, which brings services, insights and transaction solutions together for a better customer experience. VeriTread, founded in 2013, provides open deck transport, connecting shippers and service providers. Its products include a marketplace for listing and quoting shipments, an in-house brokerage to handle complex and urgent freight deliveries, detailed equipment specifications, and proprietary freight estimator tools. Ritchie increased its stake in VeriTread from 11% to 75% with this acquisition.
