PACE announced the promotion of the following individuals.

Taryn Mulvihill is promoted to design-build drainage engineer. Her background working on construction projects led her to become an engineer and to participate in projects that positively impact communities and the environment. Mulvihill is currently working on the SR 509 completion project, part of WSDOT's Puget Sound Gateway Program.

Krista Stewart is now a project designer II. She offers more than 25 years of technical design and coordination experience. Stewart has an extensive background, predominantly in land development within Snohomish County. She provides various skills from plat layout to fit project zoning, road and site grading, and utility design for storm, sewer, and water per unique municipality standards. Stewart uses her expertise to provide many plans, from constraints mapping to construction plans.

Tom Ferrell is now a senior project manager. With over 16 years of civil engineering experience, Ferrell focuses on special purpose districts and municipal clients. In the last five years, he has designed two reservoirs, one pump stations, four miles of water main, and performed district engineer services for four clients. He is well versed in all aspects of water system design, operations, and regulatory requirements in the state of Oregon.

Travis Stanley is now a mid design-build drainage lead. He has over 12 years of civil engineering experience, including focused expertise in stormwater management design for WSDOT bid-build and design-build projects. For most of his career, Stanley has provided stormwater infrastructure design on multiple WSDOT transportation projects. He works on various Northwest, Olympic, and Eastern Washington projects.

Jeff Zigweid is promoted to senior design-build drainage lead and Everett office lead. Zigweid provides stormwater design, project management, and mentors future engineers. He enjoys working on design-build projects and is PACE's project manager for WDSOT's SR 167 Stage 1b project.

Fallon Emerson is promoted to survey field technician III. Emerson has extensive knowledge of ALTA Surveys, boundary, topographic, construction, as-built surveys, and differential levels. Emerson has over 20 years of experience surveying in the Northwest.

Russ Dodge is promoted to senior survey field technician. Over his 21 years of land surveying experience, he has worked for private and public agencies, understanding the client and the project team's challenges in municipal projects. His notable experience includes the Chico Creek construction survey in Silverdale.

Andrew Mailloux is now a design-build designer I. With over six years of experience Mailloux is responsible for ensuring drawings convey their information and are presented accurately and consistently. He supports production efforts on WSDOT drainage projects.

Jesse Heldstab is now a survey technician IV. He has over 12 years of experience in land surveying in Oregon, Montana, and North Dakota. Working under the direction of civil engineers and land surveyors, he is currently working on the Puget Island fiber optic crossing project in Oregon.

Fortive

Fortive has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire EA Elektro-Automatik Holding GmbH, a supplier of high-power electronic test solutions for energy storage, mobility, hydrogen, and renewable energy applications, for $1.45 billion in cash. The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close in early first quarter of 2024. Fortive expects to finance the acquisition with available cash and debt financing. Fortive will discuss the transaction in more detail on its previously announced third quarter 2023 earnings conference call, scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Morgan Stanley & Co. and J.P. Morgan Securities served as financial advisors and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer served as legal counsel to Fortive. Fortive is a provider of essential technologies for connected workflow solutions across a range of end-markets. The company is headquartered in Everett, and employs a team of more than 18,000 research and development, manufacturing, sales, distribution, service and administrative employees in more than 50 countries around the world.

Wandke Accessibility

Bellingham-based Wandke Consulting has rebranded as Wandke Accessibility. The disability-owned agency specializes in helping companies create accessible services, platforms, and environments. Daman Wandke is the founder and CEO of Wandke Accessibility. Through web accessibility audits and disabled user testing, specially designed accessibility and disability inclusion training, and inclusive marketing strategies, Wandke Accessibility has served dozens of clients, ranging from small businesses and nonprofit organizations to large corporations. The company's revamped website offers increased accessibility and a blog featuring content from Wandke and other members of the Wandke Accessibility team. The company will also offer on-demand accessibility trainings.

Mox Boarding House in Bellevue hired a new restaurant general manager, Izzy Hsieh, and promoted Robin Olsen, formerly a server, to be the front of house supervisor. Hsieh has eight years of restaurant leadership experience. Prior to Mox Boarding House, she was the general manager at Meet Korean BBQ, the manager for Girin Steakhouse and Ssam Bar, and held assistant GM roles at Taylor Shellfish and mBar. Hsieh is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Pastry School. Olsen has been part of the Mox Team since November 2014. Mox Boarding House also offers an extensive library of tabletop games, and has locations in Seattle, Bellevue, and Portland.

Nautilus

Nautilus announced plans to change its corporate name to BowFlex Inc., reflecting a focus on the company's strongest consumer brand, and continued execution of its growth transformation strategy, North Star. The corporate name change is expected to be effective Nov. 1. In tandem, the company also intends to change its ticker symbol on the New York Stock Exchange from “NLS” to “BFX” effective on Nov. 1. BowFlex will be led by the current management team. The corporate name and ticker symbol change follow the company's sale of the Nautilus brand trademark assets and related licenses earlier this year as part of its ongoing comprehensive strategic review. Headquartered in Vancouver, the company's products are sold direct to consumer on brand websites and through retail partners and are available throughout the U.S. and internationally.

Boise Cascade

Boise Cascade's Building Materials Distribution division announced that it has completed the purchase of a new 120,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility in West Palm Beach, Florida. The total property is 9.7 acres and will provide additional storage and service capacity for the Pompano Beach branch. Boise Cascade produces engineered wood products and plywood, and is a leading U.S. wholesale distributor of building products.

Cornerstone General Contractors

Anderson

In Bothell, Cornerstone General Contractors promoted Max Anderson to chief estimator. Cornerstone says Anderson has been a major contributor to its growth since joining the firm in 2009. One of his most recent contributions was securing the opportunity to construct Hilltop Heritage Elementary School in Renton — the region's first elementary school with mass timber as its primary structural system. Anderson is a graduate of the University of Washington's construction management program, and is an Associate DBIA and certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Cornerstone provides preconstruction services and construction management for public and private projects.

APA

Murphy

APA — The Engineered Wood Association named John Murphy Sr. as the 2023 Bronson J. Lewis Award winner. Now in its 18th year, the award recognizes individuals for their leadership and outstanding contributions to the engineered wood industry. Murphy, who has served the industry for over 50 years, was presented with the award earlier this month at the APA annual meeting in Palm Desert, California. He is president and CEO of Murphy Co., which operates six mills in Oregon and Washington that produce softwood and hardwood plywoods and laminated veneer lumber. He also served for 25 years on APA's board. The award is named in honor of the late Bronson Lewis, who served for 24 years as secretary and then executive vice president of Tacoma-based APA.

Valentine Roofing

Construction Center for Excellence

The Washington State Construction Center for Excellence earlier this month rolled out a new website at http://www.constructioncenterofexcellence.com. The group is a statewide hub that narrows the gap between employers' demands for a highly skilled workforce and colleges' ability to supply work-ready graduates. It operates 12 centers across the state.
