Alair Homes has expanded its presence in the Pacific Northwest with the launch of Alair Seattle, bringing the company's collaborative approach to custom homebuilding to one of the most architecturally dynamic cities in the United States.
The new location is led by Jed Drenguis, owner and partner of Alair Seattle, who joins the Alair network under the regional leadership of Stacy Eakman, regional partner for Washington and partner at Alair Kirkland. The addition strengthens Alair's growing presence in Washington state, where the company has steadily built a reputation for custom homes and strong partnerships with architects, designers and skilled trades throughout the region.

Founded in 2007, Alair Homes is a privately held custom home building and renovation company with an expanding network of independently owned and operated franchises across Canada and the United States.

Based here in Seattle, John Parsons has had a long career in data centers, with prior stints at CBRE, Amazon Web Services and Goodman. Now he's joining Affinius Capital, which is based in San Antonio, but will keep his local perch. He'll now direct the national data-center development group for Affinius, which has about $61 billion under management. Carrington Brown of Affinius said in the press release, “John brings deep experience and a proven track record in data-center development and strategic execution.” Parsons added, “As demand for data centers continues to accelerate, albeit within constraining infrastructure environments, I look forward to helping expand on the development pipeline creatively.”

Brian Markham has joined the Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) team as principal. Markham has 25 years of experience leading complex arts and cultural building projects around the world, and intends to focus on expanding and elevating MKA's structural engineering practice. Throughout his career, Markham has partnered with renowned architects, museums, performing arts venues, and academic institutions to deliver highly technical, design-forward environments. He has guided multidisciplinary teams designing some of the most demanding cultural facilities in the world.
The Tacoma City Council is looking to fill two at-large positions on its Events and Recognitions Committee (CERC).
CERC serves as an advisory and action committee on city-hosted events, special events funding, and recognition programs. Members are responsible for planning, reviewing and evaluating events to receive grant funding and services, as well as engaging the community in its planning efforts for the City of Destiny Awards and the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration.
The 11-member committee is made up of Tacoma residents, with representatives from each of its five council districts, in addition to at-large positions.

CTI, an AV integration and events provider based in St. Louis, Missouri, has acquired Streamline Solutions of Seattle.
CTI provides audiovisual, IT and UCC solutions, including engineering, design, installation and integration, maintenance and service. It serves customers in the U.S. from 47 locations nationwide, in the U.K., and worldwide through the PSNI Global Alliance.

Liberty Bank announced the appointment of Jason Ryning to its Board of Directors. Ryning brings more than two decades of legal and strategic expertise in financial services and technology, further strengthening the bank's commitment to sound governance and innovation.
Ryning currently serves as general counsel at Increase, a banking technology infrastructure company. Since joining the company in 2021, he has provided strategic legal guidance supporting the development of modern banking technology solutions.
Prior to Increase, Ryning spent four and a half years at Stripe, where he led the product, commercial, operations and privacy legal teams. His work focused on building and launching compliant financial services products across global regulatory frameworks. Earlier in his career, Ryning spent a decade at Microsoft advising on technology and business matters worldwide.
Ryning holds a degree in international economics from the University of Washington and a Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University.
King County Exec. Girmay Zahilay has appointed Dr. Susan McLaughlin to serve as the director of the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS). McLaughlin currently serves as the department's acting director.
McLaughlin will lead the department tasked with providing affordable homes for people experiencing homelessness, coordinating publicly funded mental health and substance use disorder treatment, promoting youth mental health, stabilizing immigrant and refugees in the region, supporting residents who have intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate fully in community life, and strengthening the human services workforce.
A licensed clinical psychologist, McLaughlin has more than two decades of experience across clinical care, research and public sector leadership. Her career has focused on improving systems that serve individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges, with an emphasis on access, coordination, and outcomes.
McLaughlin previously served as the founding executive director and chief executive officer of HealthierHere, where she led regional efforts to improve health equity through the Accountable Community of Health. She also served as director of the University of Washington Medicine Behavioral Health Institute at Harborview Medical Center, advancing work in clinical innovation, workforce development, and research to strengthen behavioral health systems.
